My favorite bug/exploit was with the crystal workbench you lock your stuff down in it, then equip it or move it to your backpack. When you clicked on the item it says "locked down" even on your paperdoll. When you die and res everything was in the same exactly spot (equipped or in backpack) meaning you could bless literally everything.

There always seems to be so much controversy in and around these RDA's. Removing them I say.... then the problem goes away permanently.

players have always made too much money off these relics imo, and it's because the system was not set up in a character bound manner. In other words, each player should only get one relic for their talisman/meta pet and not sell the pets. It also takes away from sinks.

There's another thread that compares tamers to other classes and it seems like tamers are the only option for reaching the 10's of millions endgame that many tamers are achieving due to this system. I agree that the RDA system and relics systems need a revamp 100%

wait it took like 2 minutes to test out the bug, it couldn't have been exploited further as the RDA was about to go down... Besides staff was contacted right after none was reachable at that time.

you mean to tell me that there was never any chatter about the possibility of someone having found a place to log out inside the minotaur RDA during those two months where you guys couldn't find a single one? That's the part that baffles me.

No there was never any "chatter".

Really? Well it seems much, much more likely that thread creator just wanted to catch the person involved and test the theory before reporting it to ensure a reward. That based on thread title, OP and his further commenting. I'm not buying it.

Yup, other than its population...

I haven't even seen an RDA since they were removed from dungeons and I'm still having a great time playing... but I didn't know I was missing out on the best part of the game. Then again, I've never really been into exploiting :p

Well, I tried to plead your case Mess but everyone will believe what they wish to. With that being said, let us focus on far more important problems...

Ok here's how it went down my dear. We find an minotaur rda after a little over an hour of tracking. You know actually working to get things you want. Now I always run a tracking macro to make sure no one is coming in. Now my radar is completely clear until the boss comes up, and suddenly a char named A Lucky Leprechaun shows up hidden in the far south end of the RDA. No way he came in and stealthed his way there as he just popped up in that location, a minute later he is gone. So mess decided to take his alt and logs him out to see if he gets moved out of the rda. So we don't look like jackasses if a GM tests it and finds there was no bug. IMMEDIATLY after Mess confirmed the bug he tries to contact various GMs to tell them the char name and the exploit. AT THE TIME WE DID NOT KNOW WHO LUCKY LEPERCAHAUN WAS! So it wasn't about "getting rid of the competition." And of the 4 people in the party and TS channel, not one of us even mentioned keeping this exploit to ourselves. We wanted this exploit to be exposed.

NO we never considered there was someone exploiting the Minotaur RDA

NO it's not about being rewarded for turning in an exploit

It's about people only risking a slap on the wrist to do an exploit that gets them lots of cash.

You really dont have to explain yourselves. People are going to have their opinions usually regardless of what you say, even if they dont believe it themselves and are just trying to stir shit up. Trust me I do it a lot. I would just carry on playing the game legit and reporting weird shit and not worry anyone else says or thinks. GL

This is the truth.^
I think a lot of people also try and justify exploiting things like this as not really being exploits somehow and that they are "just playing the game"
obviously, to us it is bullshit and cheating.

While I do believe your personal innocence here, and also that none of you would have considered doing the same thing as this lucky lep fellow, I still see OP as caring more about the reward/punishment aspect and looking for fame by making such a post. My point has always been that virtue is it's own reward, and that the staff are fully qualified of making decisions on their own. So sorry to mess that he didn't understand that before posting in this manner.

I will mention that at one point I was told by a former developer that he had developed a better reward system for bug reporters, but it was never implemented before he left the server. While I think it was a good idea, and that bug reporters do play a big role in keeping an online game server alive, I see how not having it has also benefited the shard.

I'm not endorsing what lucky lep did either, in fact when I found tiles inside the Khaldun dungeon that were able to be marked/recalled to I reported it right away as well. So obviously I am overly qualified to speak on this issue.

I know exactly what other players would have done in that case, abused the problem to make cash. Compared to Khaldun, there is much more gold that can be made by exploiting the same problem with RDA's, which highlights another part of this problem in itself. Should mob drop items be worth that much gold in the first place?? Doesn't anyone else see the balance issues in the economy that relics have caused? And when there's millions of gold on the table, players are going to cut eachothers throats to get them, and be more likely to cheat. And thus more likely to try to get eachother banned for doing so. Period.

I think it's time to open up zombieland, and close down a few of the custom systems for balance revamps. That's just my opinion though.
