Reporting Bugs and exploits: Worth it or not?

I can't win this argument so i'm going to make accusations approach hu?

I spent time with eppy (after he told me I probably wouldn't get a reward) helping him test the whole area.

And you can ask my guild members if I ever exploited this.

but you did exploit it to try and get someone banned.. instead of reporting it the second you knew about it. Don't you get it??

I can vouch for Mess. I have done RDAs with him for the last 2 months and we indeed just discovered this bug. The only reason we did was because one of our members was tracking and saw a random name pop up deep in the rda and then move to the gate invisible and exit. He then reported it instantly.

Fair enough. I'll believe your story, for now. It 's weird that he stated that it's a well known bug that many guilds have abused in the past. Smells fishy to me.

Hard to believe that it took 2 months to figure out that this was what was going on with the minotaur RDA if yall already knew it was happening with other RDA's. Maybe MTBowl isn't the only one you caught, just the only one you decided to report maybe?

The bug was supposed to be fixed, it wasn't until we caught Mt using it that we found out it wasn't fully fixed for the Mino rda.

If other players were abusing this bug they got their chars out before we reported it cause only mt's alt was there.

To be fair I first tested it to confirm my suspicions rather than make a false claim.

I'm only speaking for myself here but I don't have beef with anyone on this server "except Tom the Immortal for being pro mass murder" and have had no issues with MT. He seems like a nice guy. When Fay saw the name pop up and told us, we thought it was someone else who won't be named. I am not in the business of withholding information about exploits and since I've been back, there has been no evidence that my guild mates are either. Of course this is taking my word for it.

I think we should all take a page out of the Hanes book and not only exploit bugs, but we should throw everyone who showed us the bugs under the bus after our own heavy exploitation. Seems legit.

Hanes I think you are the least qualified person in the entire world to be speaking on this subject. It's time to ride that high horse into the sunset, pardner.

But...you know...for the good of the server, right?

Trouble with that is...diligence and integrity are two traits not often found in community members who discover bugs or exploits.

Too bad dedicated QA personnel isn't very realistic for UOF.

Your head thickens.

Again, sup least qualified person to be speaking on the subject at hand?

While you may believe that I am the least qualified person to be speaking on the subject, based on rumors that you have chosen to believe due to whatever bias you hold against me, there is a world of bugs that I personally have reported that actually have involved production of mass amounts of gold and items. Even PvP advantageous items. I just choose not to post about them on the forums every time I don't get rewarded for doing so.

One point I will make here is that it is not up to players to take it apon themselves to do testing on bugs before reporting them, just because they want to measure the value of the bug versus the value of the reward they feel they should get.

In the time it took for messy to test the problem, it could have been further exploited, and probably was for that entire 2 month period. Next time, if you feel there is something suspicious going on, report the problem right away and let the GMs figure it out. They have tools that can help them solve the problems faster than a player can.

If we can all take one thing out from this thread, it's that we are all part of a community and it takes players being selfless to make it work. Virtue is it's own reward.

I stand corrected, you are the most qualified to speak on the subject because of your history of exploitation on this server.

Please, proceed UOF's champion grudgeholder and hypocrite.

Rofl, knows nothing about rdas called it early on. oh and i'm sure eppy was happy that he didn't have to waste his time trying to find out if an unsubstantiated claim was true

There always seems to be so much controversy in and around these RDA's. Removing them I say.... then the problem goes away permanently.

wait it took like 2 minutes to test out the bug, it couldn't have been exploited further as the RDA was about to go down... Besides staff was contacted right after none was reachable at that time.
