Question, will pet statloss be looked at.....?

Geez that's like what, an hour and a half for a tamer to make that much? Glad I never made one it sounds like it would be impossible to turn a profit.

Verily, they are the most neglected class on UOF.

I like and agree with most of your posts but, your sarcasm around an issue you've never had to deal with is a little................ ? Good thing I never degraded your rares posts :)

this whole thread is just garbage, man.
you're complaining bc you let your pets die (i seek forgiveness?), and they lose a point in something that can be bought up easily for 10-15k. if you die, you should take a loss.. and as a tamer, you have what? regs and a few pots on you? if you can't make 10k with a tamer in 10 minutes, you're doing it wrong obviously.

regearing a pvm dexxer is double to triple that amount, if not more.

get better at the game, don't try to make the game fit around the fact that you suck.

easy.. cheap 25k-non statsloss insurance for pets..

Makes since, just like reds can avoid statloss with auto head buy back.

If it's going to stay in, it should at least be 1 point loss and not 10%, a pet at 120 looses 1.2 and there is no skill scroll for 1.2 and there is no way to gain back certain skills (ie magery). Also the fact that poisoning still can't be gained on meta pets needs addressed

I had this whole long reply typed up full of all kinds of good shit regarding pets and stat loss, but let's try something different:

From this point moving forward we would be a lot better off if we quit differentiating between pet PvP and pet PvM. Pets were already nerfed regarding PvP. It's done. It's over. FB nerfed, skills above GM only register as GM, pet speed was adjusted. Did any of that help? Sure it did.

And we can't differentiate between PvM and PvP pet death because that's just not going to work. But we don't need to do that anyway.

Now we can focus on bringing back a reasonable skill gain rate (as it has been said a hundred times a tamer can make serious bank so the gain rate is a MINOR issue) and fixing the real problems which apply to metas only: natural magery and resist gain beyond a certain point and poisoning which does not retrain at all.

If that is corrected, then I promise these discussions will fall by the wayside.

Why do you even care about this topic... aren't you too busy owning all of UOF to care about a tamer grinding up their pet skills?

BTW, It's never been about gold I've given away more gold then some have ever earned. It's about my time and skill gain!

Tyler has a tamer now. He doesn't have a meta yet (I don't think) so he hasn't felt the pain of stat loss on a mulit, multi million gp pet and been left wondering how things could end up this way like the rest of us...lol

i care because i have a tamer myself, and i think it is perfect. my pets back to 7x gm within half an hour when they die.. whether it's through farming or ss.

if it's not about gold, then spend 10k on a resist scroll. idgaf how much you've given away.. USE it instead, so we don't have to deal with these crybaby threads man.

My original post asked a question that's it.... it's guys like you that insist in turning them into crybaby threads.

the first time you post a thread asking, its just a question.
the second time, eh..
the third time and on, it's just a nagging crybaby thread.

it's not that i don't understand what you're getting at. im just saying.. its a sandbox game. figure out ways to fix things yourself. you want statloss for reds right? you don't think you, as the most powerful pvm template in the game, should have some sort of loss when your WEAPONS die?

Shall we look back at your post history to see if you are adding anything constructive to the community or are we just another Old Azz wanabe?

To be fair, one can buy out of stat but the other can't.

Which, in hindsight, seems kind of silly. For some reason I remember several people (including Adam) saying we don't need another gold sink. But if tamers are so OP for money making (and the argument for PKs buying out of stat loss was you can afford it because you've been killing farmers) and are thus the richest players in the game....why the hell not slap a gold sink on that?

Then there never would have been a scramble to come up with ideas to curb inflation that pissed the player base off. Proposed taxes did not sit well with the community. The inevitable reduction of gold drops on spawn was a good solution.

Adding a gold sink to these moneymaking machines would be a drop in the bucket compared to the collective gold that has been sunk into meta stones. Over time that will change. But it's not going to have this major impact that people think it will.

Any who, this topic has been fleshed out every way it can. There's really only two solutions that make sense: fix skill gains, or let us opt out of losing them in the first place.

Hey, this is a better tactic :)

I'm not a huge fan of our current PK state loss. I've always supported the short and log term. If they ever introduce that system I'll dust my PKs off and play them.

If pet stat loss is needed wouldn't a temp stat loss accomplish what the developers want.... the PVP tamers not returning after 60 seconds (like was quoted above)???

if there is a real pet statloss, then it needs to be 40% just like reds.
