...it benefit the game more as in making it to be more than what it is now (in your opinion)...Well I would and yes I would lose multiple finished characters (tamer included) with millions of gold, good house etc...

BUT, I think few crucial things that exist are negatively impacting this server and causing players to lose interest quickly. Again, this is in my opinion and others are welcome to agree or disagree with their opinions.

#1 We've seen that if the staff here can ban a 3rd program application such as UO steam if willing, so why not ban Razor/UO steam permanently as well as anyone caught using scripting or 3rd party programs? That would open doors for players to actually shine and participate more in other endgame activities such as PvP.

#2 Players need to feel the risks when going out there outside guarded areas, they need to feel alerted and cautious. 3rd party programs simply do not allow players to truly enjoy the PvP aspect of this game with instant recalls, running around while spamming alch pots, auto healing/curing. There is simply no space for a single player to overcome multiple individuals alone. So, that makes the individual player forced to depend on others who might not be always available. Others simply want to roam around freely and be more independant and less socialy forced.

#3 I know out there people wish to own those great keeps/castles or even a 18x18 or maeby some smaller house on a popular location as well. Sadly, they are treated unfairly because of the first come first serve treatment, rather than having a system in place where to build a castle/keep actually requires a lot of gold to reflect it's true value, rather than being lucky to find some empty space. I see customized plots from 3 story 9x14 to 18x18 almost cost same value to place and here is the best part...people can just demolish plots and all they've built on it and get all the gold back. Does that make sense to you? It doesn't to me.

#4 I would love to play Ultima Online with a single account the way I used to. I see some excuses like "but what about those with family member who wants to play as well"? Well I can assure you those type of families that play together are far less than the damage it's caused where everyone can maintain 2 or 3 plots/houses someone else can really need/use. There is actually a simple solution for family members playing from same location. Take turns and manage your time. That is why that option to make 3 characters exist. For that purpose...

#5 Finally, I believe there is simply "too much" profit from PvE that diminishes the purpose to PvP. Too much gold, resources, leather/regs/weapons/armor coming from killing mobs. This not only harming crafters, but discouraging people to engage in other activities in UO beside endless farming the same mobs over and over as the "most profitable option".

I would also like to see a timer on recalls so people actually don't recall every 3-5 min to their bank since recalling costs almost nothing and can protect all the things you get instantly.

I believe (in my opinion) you do server wipe, you implement all these changes and watch how people will be engaged in far more crafting/PvP activities and socializing more than what we see now.

Sorry man but no matter what you want, or how badly you want, this shard to be equal for all and feel like 1997, it will never happen.

This is now an established shard. Players have worked uncountable hours building what they have. Some got lucky and are filthy rich, some used skill to get there, and thousands are poor.

Without some items or houses seeming almost unattainable, players will not have goals to reach them. Without really good pvpers other pvpers will not grow and become better. Things are not equal in life nor in UO. But hard work does pay off in both.

So sorry but...

@halygon. Everything that you've earned will end one way or another. You'll either move on to another game one day or you'll move to some other server or this server will stop operating or try to do things to lure potential big market and poll of thousand players over maintaining and catering to few hundred.

I'm one of those players that have worked uncountable hours building what they have as you put it and I'm willing to give up on all of that for being able to do more that I can right now in the game. At the end all that process of building what they have was the journey and it was fun. It's actually not the first time I've built a character/wealth items. I've done it hundreds of times through hundreds of MMO's over the last 12 years.

I just want to see a better experience for all of us and play the game the way it was indeed intended to be played and enjoyed. I remember on original OSI Atlantic server how long it took me to own some 7x7 on jungle island full with snakes :) Good old days...

My recommendation would be to build your own shard. That's not to be a snarky comment. As a player here, i've invested a lot of effort/time etc to get to my foundation. I don't even PVP, and i get slaughtered by reds. i accept that as i understood the parameters of this shard. If you want different parameters, then one must either A. Change Shards or B. Create your own.

You've got great ideas, not knocking that, but this is established, the folks running it here are clear in their intentions. By joining, you're subject to their efforts. emphasis on Their Efforts. We get to enjoy their hard work.

On a player focus, you're asking me to toss aside hours/days of in game investments. Not gonna happen. if i want to start over, i'll find a new shard or new game. And that's what will happen with a significant playerbase that don't use the forums but just play. you wipe their investment out, you'll lose the clients.

think that would piss majority off. you have to adjust to ways and find different methods in making your experience more profitable and 'fun'

i see the creator of this post joined may 25 , 2014
so he's been here a week asking for a server wipe
sorry dude but there are sitll places out there for a 7x7
as for the family thing, my wife and i enjoy playing this game together, this game is how we actually met
if they implemented only 1 account per house hold i'd quit

players do feel the risk of going outside the guard zone i can assure you that
my first day on the server i was pk'd in shame
and i don't know that being PK'ed is truly enjoying the pvp aspect of the game
to truly enjoy the pvp aspect of this game it would be 2 similar characters with similar skill levels
ive seen pk's killing people on foot, not really enjoyable being on the receiving end of it and there is absolutely no challenge in it
i accept that it happens but it is by no means the true aspect of pvp in this game

I agree. Unless it's stated up front that it's a alpha/beta shard and will be wiped, a complete wipe isn't just a reset of the system. It's a breakdown of the whole community. Setting up your own shard, even if it's just to play with your friends, is a good option if you want a clean slate. You can also make you own rules, which is a big plus!

the funny thing is
the poll says would you support a wipe for an overall better experience
yes i would support a wipe for a better experience

but any of this guys suggestions would not give a better experience and as guttersnipe said
the server would die real fast because no one would ever donate to the server again
i dont know what the current population is on this server but if its monitored over time and there is a large increase of new players coming to the server something drastic might have to change because housing would eventually become unattainable

The very reason we're in the works of implementing changes for "dirt plots" and "held houses" of friends that no longer play.
While there are still idocs, and falling houses on almost the daily, we will still be implementing these things. Makes little sense for a house to stay up when the actual owner no longer plays.

One of the reasons we continue to see young/new private shards and communities flock and hop to is because the system in place is unhealthy in the long run (again in my opinion).

What we want is to see a server that will grow in numbers, not diminish. The fact that some individual posters above say that houses now have never been cheaper and that there is plenty of space (which I agree) means that this server is far from populated and as healthy as we would like it to be.

@ Guttersnipe Donation coins were never suppose to be about buying currency/gold/items but to support the staff/server with additional improvements, content in the long run. The fact people get extra items by doing that is just a plus.

@ Geriatric Again, there is still solutions that can go around that. They can easily enforce only 1 house/plot to be owned from a certain IP or make it possible to be on 2 different characters on a single account. Regardless, if losing few people to be able to provide double the space for individuals to come and play the game and decorate their houses I would gladly do it.

@ Bryce Yes, the new system is surely an improvement, but still a player could maintain 2 plots/houses with it.

@ Sobz Majority might been pissed, but they would continue playing since still this is the best option and on top the game would be far better than ever in the long run. Players would actually engage in it with far more activities, the way it was used to be played. Keep in mind also while the majority here as you state you think would be pissed they are still counted as a minority compared to the thousands of potential players that exist out there that this server has failed to attract so far or people have simply not heard of because word of mouth spreads fast, but we need some mouths out there in first place...

I would really want to see this game grow in popularity up to the point where we can see even a second server one day.

Care to answer the question?

@ Sobz Majority might been pissed, but they would continue playing ...
Your poll doesn't seem to support that.

Yeah lets just whipe the items everyone spent the last year and a half obtaining, and the thousands of dollars people have invested into donation items and see how the playerbase holds out....the ONLY server wipe i was ever around for that did any good was back in the early 2000's and that's only cuz the game was so big and the server was on the verge of dying....

this server is not on the verge of dying, and it's still very much growing and moving forward without a server wipe...
(I am honestly VERY poor and don't have much..but I worked very hard to get what i do have, and if it gets wiped, I wouldn't start over....)

they don't really need to open a second server
infact i would be against that
and if the population does start to really billow out
they can introduce another facet not trammel just call it felucca 2 exactly the same ruleset as now with double the housing
if some asshole decides to not get rid of his treasure chest after digging it up just jump to the other other side

housing is a little bit scarce here but its not impossible when it gets to the point that it would cost 1 million gold for a 7x7 then you would start to think about implementing something like that

and yes the donation coins are to help the server stay maintained but do you honestly think you would get the same donations then as you would now if the player didnt atleast get something in return

as far as word of mouth goes about finding your way to this shard that a little bit of bullcrap
if you dont know what ultima online is then yes word of mouth have to atleast peak your interest in the game as it is with any game
but you do know what UO is then you do a google search and the UO forever shard is the 3 hit return which i believe is where most of this donation money goes, to promoting this server, so going back to the donation coins why would someone want to donate to a server that is advertising to get more people to play and have more competition in housing ?
by the way i havent donated yet and its not because i dont think i should i have every intention of donating this is a great server and i would like to show my support one way of showing you support the server ingame is by riding around on an ethereal mount

-1 on the wipe

Definitely +1 on blocking Razor and Steam tho. The shard I played years and years ago supported no addons, you had to do everything manually, apart from setting up some good ingame macros.

Let me see if I have this right.

You got banned, you got unbanned, you now feel that you are behind so you want a reboot.

Hell. I don't even disagree with some of your thoughts but a reboot is not the answer at least bit the most intelligent.

Yea.. Some people have paid 100s of dollars to UOF, possibly 1000s. That's like buying a brand new computer and throwing it out the window.

Noone wants this.
