Observe script-tamers alot closer

hi,
since 2 month i stumble across wildlife, pretamed, with the same names.
it is absolutely impossible, that the person, who tamed those creatures, didnt do the gm in that time.
beside that, it also is alot of wildlife, i wouldn't consider "worth of taming" at a certain skill.
it looks alot like scripted taming, easyuo stuff. i would appreciate it, if you had an eye on that.
if multiple people are using the same script, they dont even bother changing the name of the tamed wildlife.

I would actually agree, with this. It is a minor problem as I'm fairly sure there is a very small handful of people that are doing it, but it still exists

i think it wouldn't be too big of a deal making a script that alerts the staff, if that thing is going out of hand (and i hope it doesn't go there).
it compromises the work of players, who put real effort into the most work-intensive skill in the game.

I ran across someone 2 or 3 weeks ago that I followed for 40 min (I know, I was effin bored). he would walk to an animal, tame, rename, release..and WALK to another one. over and over and over...nobody fuckin walks around taming, u run to where ur going. anyways, I followed him, stealing from him, attacking jim and not a single response....until finally he said something back.

it was super obvious he was afk scripting then happen to check back and see me. I paged gm and they said they were watching him on ice island and confirmed he WASNT scripting...

so even if u catch em, the gms have to while hes afk or nothing will happen. I guess apparently scripting while ur not afk is allowed.......?

1. It's probably quite a group of people using the script. 2. Not everyone is knowledgeable/cares to change the name in the script. 3. Sometimes it takes MANY tames to get a gain so even if there are a ton of creatures, there is a chance it's from 1 or 2 people..

UOF Staff have taken many steps to fight botted taming and they have made A LOT of progress with decreasing this problem...when I first started it was no task to find a room full of pre tames that had been left in a corner for a bot.

Scripting is allowed if you are NOT AFK. But this sounds more like he was using what would be considered a BOT...Next time get a video and you'll be more likely to get the justice you seek

theres a steam script that will tame, rename and release but requires you to activate the macro on each npc unless theres one RIGHT next to your previously tamed mob at the time you release it, then it'll tame that closer animal next but if its too far the macro stops and you have to move yourself.. so to see many mobs with same name isnt abnormal.

so if you have like 10 mobs stuck in a corner of land then it'll tame lal 10 then stop, or if you trap bulls in jhelom building then it'll tame them all and stop. i think the search radius is like 1-2 tiles after it releases previously tamed

its certainly not going to get someone gm 100% afk

I used a steam macro that would tame anything within 2 tiles and rename/release. You still have to activate the macro and walk up to the animal you're taming. Once you're beyond 65-70 skill it's not worth much.

Real men buy 50 taming skill scrolls.

I was under the impression that scripting taming was acceptable as long as you aren't afk......but the rules/terms of use state that:
"Any sort of "scripting" using this skillset will be punishable"

So I'm confused.
The way this is worded gives the impression that taming scripts are unacceptable regardless of your online status.

Isn't afk macroing legal on this server as long as it doesn't involve resource gathering? Or is there some exception involving taming?

Scripting is a ton of fun. Some people enjoy different aspect of the game, and this is one of very few games where scripting is actually legal, so naturally people flock to it. I definitely wouldn't be playing if I wasn't allowed to script.

Taming is an exception to the afk macroing rule.

Pretty easy to spot a scripter. Def page in if you see someone

I dont see this as a issue at all,

Dungeon tame scripts ARE illegal here, but there is a fairly easy to obtain UOS script that walks you around taming renaming releasing, but for me it was a hell of allot faster to just tame scrops up to 84 then scroll

That script might be able to afk tame but its not like your gaining some huge advantage

It doesn't allow afk taming as is and besides too many trolls and orc bombers around to afk besides the fact that you'd get punished.

I have seen someone bringing animals into dungeon to tame just this week though

then maybe it should be illegal. thats nearly the most ridiculous thing ive heard so far. scripting is for lazy fuckers that domt want to work for anything. im fine with macroing things, but scripting should be a no no.

might as well make new chars start with 90 taming while were at it..
