Observe script-tamers alot closer

This sounds terribly restrictive and would be a ton of work for Adam for little to no gain but I see where you're going with this.

It would definitely be restrictive, but I bet a comprehensive list of 'legitimate' macros and scripts could be assembled with relative ease.

Plus new macros could be submitted and added to the list.

E: @Bromista I have no idea how hard it would be, but I thought razor, steam and sallow have the ability to restrict features. Just bundle the macros with the program and turn off the ability for players to make new macros.

Sounds legit.

I do wonder who would take the time to do it. And I do wonder how salty people would be and quit.

We could do without some of the players we have IMO because in many small ways they bring the experience down for legit players. But from a biznass standpoint I understand why they are still around. You're going to lose players either way, shitty easy-mode scripters or players fed up with shitty easy-mode scripters.

I guess the best thing to do is hope that the legit players have a thick enough hide to tolerate it. You ruin the easy-mode and that group of players is GONE.

Yeah.

The flip side to my position is that at this point UO 'skill' is about more than button pushing, it's about understanding the deeper intricacies of game mechanics and even the raw code. And that includes the skill involved in pushing the scripting abilities of the assistant programs.

After all, we all have access to the same programs. Some people are just better at it than others.

Plus the devs make a good effort and (I think) do a good job of getting rid of people who cross the line.

There is definitely some merit to be able to push a system to its max. I understand being in support of scripting in that regard only, maximum efficiency is cool beanz.

But there is definitely a line. And that line has been crossed an awful lot lately.

I have talked to some people, man.

i dont see the problem??? is steam not legal here or something? i went from 50 to 90 taming like this, not afk tho....at my desk with my eyes on the screen....

selling steam script that runs around and tames - 1mill gold!!!

fully automated, all you have to do is watch it so you don't get reported

That's totally allowed. AFK has always been the line.

OP just doesn't like it or something, idk.

if afk skill gaining is wrong, why is there 5-10 afkers a day in sewers macroing all the skills???
I have used the script for taming, but i was there making sure i find animals to tame and not try to die by frost trolls, or orcish douches
