I know the chance of producing a power or vanq bow depends on the type of wood used. Is that also true with weapons made by carpenters (e.g. clubs, q-staffs)?
Considering how pretty useless staves are has there been any thought to making them better?
I know they don't get the 2-H mace special attack, would it break the game if they were given the special? As far as I know they are the only 2-H weapons that don't have a special.
It's really not that they are useless, because as others have said, they do a good job of dealing damage.Considering how pretty useless staves are has there been any thought to making them better?

The issue is that if you are gonna choose a 2-H mace weapon, the war hammer is superior. Burst damage is hard to counter well as opposed to consistent hits.
So if you are in a small area and your opponent cannot run away, consistent damage will destroy them. This is rarely the case, even in duel pits.I haven't gotten into PvP yet, so I'm ignorant, but could you explain why burst damage is harder to counter?
I'm making a few assumptions:
- The weapons do the same damage over time (only difference is burst vs consistent hits).
- It's a 1v1 fight.
- The person getting hit by the hammer anticipates the damage and starts his first heal right off the bat (which I'm guessing he'd do with explode pouch + heal).
Wouldn't the interrupts and finger slips make consistent damage preferred to burst damage?
