Infected Wounds Relic Change / Suggestions

As people are finding out this relic is not very good. at all. Most boss fights this does literally nothing for the player. Also dexer's don't really go toe to toe with balrons paragons, ancient wyrm paragons and things of the sort.

I was thinking why not change it to something like rend? Apply a dot to the target doing X damage over X time.

Another idea could be an ability called berserk, increased swing speed / damage for a short amount of time. (nothing drastic like quick silver)

Last idea is whirlwind. This could cause your weapon to swing and hit 8 tiles around you. Much more useful for champion spawns and farming multiple mobs.

All in all I think infected wounds needs a change what does the UOF community feel? any other suggestions?

I think it needs a change. I just dumped the one I dropped in a hurry the other day because I only use my dexer for bosses and 0 for regular farming. I think it should have some application for bosses and I'd be fine with there being no other method of poisoning those bosses to give the relic more utility.

I think your suggestions are straying way too far from what the relic is meant for: poisoning things.

It is useless as of now. I'd rather be able to eat a gold relic on my dexer than use infected wounds.

For the players out there using their dexers as their farming machines it is certainly not useless. That being said, all relics need to be effective against bosses. A slight change is a that is needed to make that happen and it would sure as shit not be game breaking.

And heck, your suggestions would be totally fine...for some new relics!

I don't think there are many high end meta dexers yet so I doubt this will catch wind. hopefully it does! *crosses fingers*

Maybe have the poison have a damage cap based on the hitpoints of the enemy. At the end of the day the gms have to decide what the true DPS should be of each char if you add up all the relics.

Tonycakes do you have an infected relic or just going off what you have heard? Just curious because people were railing on tread at first and it's an amazing relic IMO.

Tread had been changed from its original version.

Infected should just be considered infecting a mob with a parasite and rather than poison just do a damage over time for the same damage poison would do. This way it would work on all mobs and if it is found to be over powered just increase the delay or decrease the damage. DoT is the best way to rework this relic IMHO.

That and just remove the delay when equipping the talisman all together. I have thought of a lot of way to make it so you can reduce or remove the delay at a cost but the more I think about it I don't know why it is even there.

Dexxers will die. It happens. Meta dexxers will take on big stuff and will die even more. Why have anything force you into a 15 min break? I'm just not certain what the goal of this mechanic is anymore Tbh.

Did not know tread was ever adjusted. Thanks! I'm anxious to try infected but cant get my hands on one :(

First version of tread was only a % chance to proc which as you can imagine would be a nightmare to train or use effectively.

i have one sitting in bank, also watched my buddy train his for 2 levels then quit cuz of how bad it was.

Just realized infected doesn't have to mean poison, like you say a parasite, or any other type of infection which can apply to any mob would be great.

Should make it like bleed attack. Has to be staunched by healing with aids or magic. Damage not effected by armor. Higher levels attacker can absorb the damage dealt.

Another idea could be taking the parasite suggestion and have it not only do damage but confuse the infected monster. Cause it to act like it is pleaced or start fleeing like when near death for a few moments.
