How to win War of Elements event

Just a correction. It does not have to be a runic weapon. It is any non-slayer weapon that gives out the double xp. Slayers give 1:1 HP: XP. Non-slayers give around 1:2 HP:XP.

I made out OK at the last event. Got 13th place and looted a lot of gold(1.5-2m) and vanq clubs. Still have a bag full of those red skinning knives too. If you simply ignore the score and farm the monsters like you would in a dungeon you basically get a week of guard zone'd monster farming. At this stage you can farm gold endlessly within a screen of a bank, making deposits every 5-10mins.

Ahahhah WTF I have never figure out how u overcome me at the vesper event and don't use any slayer weapons, only bronze kats lol !!! :)

I have spent double time for it but i have only used slayer weapon katanas :( (don't event mention i have no good relics except ds)

I feel total owned now... if i only know about that "feature" I will be top1 ^_^

Talismans should work on events -- why not?

p.s.

I saw someone from EQMS had top score at the first part of the event... I dunno whether to give him a 100k prize or kick him from the guild for being a tram.

There's a direct correlation between time spent at the event and points accumulated. The people in the top ten are the ten people who worked the hardest for those points.

1/10 of the server can and have dedicated the time to leveling full metas and meta talismans. The rest of the server that don't have time for it is basically left out at these events. I was hoping to see rewards for the lower end of the server but so far all I see is rewards for the elite 1/10. Lots of casual players like my self feel left out. Sure we get to the event when we can but in no way will we ever see the top 10, top 50, ect...

Confirmed with @Adam that Runic weapons give no special bonus for points. They only add to the base damage of the weapon. Extra event points are not given for using these.

So you're only doing the event for the rewards? Please put more rewards in for militias so the 90% of the server who plays for pixels will have incentive to join.

What other reason / motivation is there? Fun? Generally I have fun doing everything I do in UOF. Events are fun and I participate when I can. I'm saying catering the rewards system to only the high end game players is messed up and discourages a lot of people from even showing up.

@Shane is looking into adding invasion tokens into the loot table for the event monsters. This would be a great additoon for the 9/10thers you are referring to. So far the only loot drops worth some extra money are rare colored statues. This will of course benefit all the 1/10 as well but still gives casual players a chance to get lucky and get rewards.

As for the actual reward system when the invasion is all said and done. I know @Shane does not want a situation where the top guys have so many points that they make 100m off of all of them. I know in the past the rewards all had tiers. There should be a cap on how many lvl 1 tier rewards a single person can attain. Or at least something where there is a limit of 1 for each individual item in the upper tiers. So if a meta egg is in the top tier you can only get 1 and you will have to spend the rest of your points on other items. This at least yields a greater chance of having more variety of items being bought and then introduced to the market. There are several battles rewards that I don't think anyone bought that were pretty cool. It isn't that the players that had the points didn't like them, it was they wanted to get the biggest bang for their buck and picked only the most popular items so they bought multiples of the same item to sell off.

@Shane @Blair @halygon @eppy -- please keep this in mind when trying to encourage participation in the new militia system. The majority of people will ONLY join a pvp system if there are pixel incentives.

Then those people are lame if that's the only reason they do events.

It's the same reason people do the CTFs/King of the Hill -- sure they can be fun on their own but ive talked to numerous people who do them who said they would stop if they didnt eventually lead to pixels.
