Why would these mechanics exist for blues only -- currently reds cannot cast any spell on a blue in town or perform any negative action. It would seem to me to make sense that you not allow blues do this either as it ONLY exists for griefing purposes(most of which happen at the brit crafter area).
They don't exist for reds because of blues arguing your above stance. UOF has a unique stance towards reds, hence the unevenness, but it is still a sandbox game.

When you choose to go afk, even for a moment, you are giving yourself the risk of something happening that wouldn't normally happen if you were at the keyboard.

Reds not being able to attack blues in town is just a side effect of allowing reds in town in the first place. I don't think the interaction between blues should be balanced around this.

Makes no sense that the only way you can attack someone in town is through blue griefing... is it that important to allow crafters to be griefed at the brit crafting station to keep this mechanic in?

Honestly, I think so. Do you want risk free UO? I don't and I use the brit crafting station for all of my crafting. I've put tons of hours in there afk and not afk.

I'm curious though, how often do you craft there?

I think it's important to keep the game free from restriction as much as possible, especially in regards to the economy. Be it people ganking farmers in dungeons or people fucking with crafters at brit crafting zone.

I dont craft in that area which would probably make me a bit more objective than most. I too prefer a UO where there are no penalties and things keeping us from doing what we want, however with all the tears on the forums, that doesnt seem to be the prevailing sentiment these days.

*Sighs*

Was wondering when the tear comment was going to make an appearance... Oh look, I ripped up all the foliage of that hill and now it has collapsed but it was legal to do so!

The slayers and reduced material make me go there. Although I do a lot at my house. I would use it less of if I didn't fail so much with bone armor.

Not sure this makes your more objective. Don't you tell people in the PvP forum that if they don't PvP, then they shouldn't post there? smh..

@halygon - Contrary to glut here, I think we should have reds be able to deal damage to blues in town.. we already have a noob zone (ie WBB) for those that want to avoid risk in town.

I do enjoy that having one area in all of brit free from pking makes people crazy.

this is just a simple case of exploitation. charlie is not casting xplodes and running out of town. he sits in the southwest corner of crafting area and repededly casts on ppl. without being hit by guards.even if u call guards,he dont get it.simply put,its exploitation in order to prey on noobs. which u know i wouldnt even have mentioned this if i didnt see sumone bring it up but when u think about it it could like scare off noobs if they think they are going to a spot they can safely craft without being killed and hes there being a noob

Why? Letting reds kill in town under guard rules isn't related to no-cuts or faction incentives....

So you think reds should be allowed to kill people in town but don't see the relation to how they would still not be able to be statted if in factions or if they made it to the no-cut just before a blue killed them? Interesting logic.

I would also like to state I am not against pkers, they make this game fun, just like pvm, crafting. But I do enjoy having a place to go to not be killed.

Not at all. No-cut is to incentivize pvp. No stat sigil in factions is to incentivize factions. No cast on blues in town is to makes noobs feel happy.

I doubt that will happen unless the player population gets behind it. If you feel strongly about it, make a thread.

Can you provide me the details and location so that staff can look into it?
