The death risk is too much for some people it seems.
It is not how the game once was. In the original game being a pk was the minority play style. On this shard it seems opposite. Nearly everyone has at least one red or blue pk. If not one per account.
So the reward often times doesn't justify the risk here. The risk of going to frequent farming spots is pretty much a guarantee to have a run in with a pk within less than an hour.
So you have more people loner fishing for tons of goodies. And generally avoiding dungeons. Hurts pks, no or few targets. Hurts shard, new players don't realize just how bad it is and make prime targets.
Think about it. Why take all that risk for say 150-300gp/monster in despise ( common beginner dungeon)? Starting out your better off farming with resource collecting or random ettins in the forest.
Maybe part of this problem can be solved with a new player prompt informing them of how to farm safer earlier on.
