Why are you playing UO?

With the torrential down pour of tears from the bad players club recently, I must question why a lot of you are even playing? Many want no risk and pretty much just solo grind with no consequences as if they're playing diablo with god mode on.

So, I put it to the community why are you here?

I'm here to be the best pokemaster possible and pillage all who confront me. Plus I beat hello kitty island adventure already.

Real question is why are the Aussie bros here?

You basically only do two things:

A. Rail on newbs who don't stand a chance.

B. Die in hilarious fashion against overwhelming odds.

We know you say you don't care, but we all know you care or you wouldn't cry about stat so much. We all know you don't participate in any other facet of the game so there can't be anything for you there.

Seems hard to find enjoyment with a playstyle like that. So, why are you here? Just to shit on others?

Sick life bro.

Forum trolling is its own UO career.. next to Fishing and Blacksmithing. Its UO for/within the digital generation.

Nope.

I'm just curious as to why some people play UO when they clearly want it customized to suit them, rather than enjoy the nostalgia that UO differentiates itself from every other bland MMO.

Just so everyone knows...what consequences do you want a tamer, assuming blue, to have?

They already have consequences - a small statloss upon death, which many of you have blown wildly out of proportion. Compared with the current red penalties it is childs play.

Yet you said they want no risk like so many others....
They aren't comparable anyway....red stat loss is punishment for killing fucking ppl all day(evil acts)
Pet skill loss is for...well apparently...not caring about your pet.(no evil acts)

My blue commits far more heinous acts than my red - I take players out of the game for 48 hours from my beast pets.

Where as my red takes out players for a few minutes at best, but then must suffer from irc and forum abuse for killing a diablo player.
