Something should be done about this, with the lack of T2A where there are no houses, since ive moved to this shard 14 days ago the ONLY field pvp outside of dungeons ive seen is house hiding pvp.

Its terrible.

My suggestion is, if you are in factions or red and your in combat you shouldn't be allowed to enter a house just like your not allowed to recall.

The exception should be if you OWN the house, not co-own or friend but OWN. thats it.

Every single fight ive gotten into outside of a dungeon has resulted in someone sprinting towards a house, field pvp just isnt enjoyable if this is the case. No wonder why such a HUGE population shard has such a SMALL number of faction players.

Also the "no chop red head" zone in brit shouldn't extend to where houses exist. This just promotes more trammy style fighting.

People are not going to learn to become better PvPers when they have such a large handicap of being able to just hop inside a house, and yes there are some great pvpers here, but a majority of the shard truly needs to learn to PvP/Field.

Its time to take the training wheels off.

Couldn't you just fight reds in dungeons instead of the field?? or is it too far away from the trammel zones and guardline?

Training wheels, indeed.

I don't think you understand the difference between fighting reds in dungeons and factioning in the field.

If a time comes when you do, please post a intelligent, well thought out response. It would be much appreciated.

And i fight reds/blues all day in the dungeon, but i would like to also have the option to fight just person vs person without monster, or house hiding involvement, which is what factions are for.

I have to agree with having a pvp zone like that where houses are not being a good thing. Sure it will totally increase pvp, but sadly no reward and a lot of abuse of house hiding. I know getting rid of house jumping solved one issue of course. I am sure it would be looked into.

All you want is the game mechanics to cater to your chickenshit blue guardline hiding playstyle, the evidence is in your completely one-sided post. *yawn*

You may be in factions, but you definitely play a blue and not a red, or you would have left the no chop zone right out of the argument, as well as possibly added a ''blues cant run into town after aggro'' clause, for balance.

what is gay is 20 blues running in and out of a gz at the pvp area may be if u wanna block houses for reds in pvp zone you should also stop blue's running back into gz after they choose to flag

Actually i have 2 red factioners, and 1 blue.

Im not looking for any type of catering to myself the fact is that this will increase faction field action.

And not only are 2 of my faction chars red, but i also have another 2 non faction reds. So your point is invalid, sorry.

Maybe reds shouldnt be fighting at the bridge where only players new to pvp will fight?

Players new to PvP will hug the guard zone obviously, if you dont want to deal with that you have plenty of options as a red.
#1 join factions
#2 dungeon PK
#3 run around inside town and let people flag on you then fight

The problem is there is no mechanic to prevent house hiding for factioners,

On other faction shards there is T2A where you cannot house hide, its fight to the end, here its fight till you get low then run to your house, med up summon a demon and come back out. rly?

To me this just sounds like you want to be able to run out of your house, fail a sync, then run back in and repeat with the most absolute minimal risk to actually having to fight a battle out.

The no chop zone extending into a housing area just doesn't make sense to me that's why i brought it up.

If you would like to fight on reds, 2v2 field with me just PM me anytime and we can go find a place without houses and have some field action and see where you actually stand in this argument.

Maybe we shouldn't fight in the "pvp zone"? and should kill bard's in dungeons for pvp instead? yea that sounds right wtf.......

- We play reds/factions and order/chaos we fight wherever/whenever we can and often hang about in town .
- Pking in dungeons is not real PVP its killing pvm toons for fun/gold the PVP zone is for PVP strangely enough.

Also aint you the guy who want to Duel Ksagan to prove your the better idocer? LOL

Cant u have a debate without adding duel me to prove i am right? Duel proves 1 thing u can duel. not you can IDOC, Not you are always right

Oh dear lawd.

The op has nfi.

I haven't seen house hiding reds there myself yet at brit bridge from shitty reds, but i'm sure they exist (no sarcasm), just 100x less than the gzone fleeing blues....

All my reds are factions, and guess what? every blue factioner i fight is a gm runner who waits to load exp, runs a further minute, then drops/eb. Or runs until they lose me if they can't have atleast 1 buddy to help fight (exp/stun/eb lol).

Unfortunately, cowardice is one of modern UO's most common tactic.

TBH factions is horse shit. It cares to a minority, and the casual gamer looking for random pvp when it suits them just cant compete.

The zone is a good thing, it allows newer blue/***** players to dip their toes into pvp, providing excitement and learning whilst allowing reds not to get ass raped for 48 hours because they entertained a bunch of players on the rag.

STFU bad player, and trust me, house hiding is far less irritating than being statlossed for 48 hours when you willingly fought 3v1, get cut and statlossed for merely providing
entertainment (just happened to me, but i guess when you drill their comrades for 10 minutes, this is bound to happen).

I run with a grp of 3 players in factions. Its only 3 of us, so i again your point is invalid. We dont need more than the 3 of us.

If you think house hiding is valid and productive to pvp and shard pvp improvement that's your opinion, i disagree.

If the shard agrees that house hiding is a legit fielding pvp tactic, then so be it, but im not a player who fights at WBB on a blue and runs into guard zone after i run out closet target a red and run back in, sorry i fight to the death, on a red or a blue, and i don't leave my team behind, nor do i run to my house, and i also don't get friend-ed to every possible house i can in every possible PvP zone so i have a out.

And i never mentioned dueling, I mentioned if you want to field me 2v2 your more then welcome to PM me. I dont duel.

100% agree. OP is new to the shard so doesn't recognize how things were just a month ago. the easy in/easy out pvp zone without stat loss makes it so accessible that people will actually do it. if you remove house hiding/gline hopping, you'll just get more runners. and i think we can all agree there's too much of that already.

I agree with this point, i just dont think the zone should extend into the housing area.

I was just trying to bring up a topic that i thought would make for a good discussion, i think its gotten out of hand and trolls and flames have started so why dont we end the thread here.

Im new, i guess i will adapt to house hiding, but wont participate in it myself because i see no need for it.

If someone can out field me, id rather leave them my corpse on the ground to loot then run with my tail between my legs to my house.

This whole thread is a fail, but I'll try to add some constructive criticism to it.

It has always been like this on all shards because somehow people don't understand that dieing in game is not permanent.

My suggestion is, if you are in factions or red and your in combat you shouldn't be allowed to enter a house just like your not allowed to recall.
What about blues? Don't hate some, hate all.

Every single fight ive gotten into outside of a dungeon has resulted in someone sprinting towards a house, field pvp just isnt enjoyable if this is the case. No wonder why such a HUGE population shard has such a SMALL number of faction players.
Pretty sure this is less of a house hiding thing and more of a "can run forever" thing.

And i fight reds/blues all day in the dungeon, but i would like to also have the option to fight just person vs person without monster, or house hiding involvement, which is what factions are for.
I don't understand how this is what factions is for. I thought factions was so that you could group fight in towns and take control of them. Fighting outside of towns is just a side effect. One could argue that guild wars and order/chaos is more aligned with what you are saying than factions.
