Even if it was the vendor owner stealing the item back it is not a scam at all. It is someone using skills set within the game. As someone said earlier, have some situational awareness. Because you are buying an expensive item from a vendor does not implement some safe trammel instance for you. Use detect hidden, reveal, even use multiple characters to ensure a safe buy. If you didn't and the item gets stolen, You even have a shot at killing said thief and recovering.

I can't believe this thread is this long and this vendor shouldn't be shamed regardless. Protect yourself and don't come screaming with butthurt threads when a stupid moment which we all have costs you a bit of gold.
