This Rewardsystem is not an good Idea - it prefer only the workless and kiddies that can play 24/7 - and the other have no chance to get these special reward.

Your Idea of the rare finding everywhere is the right direction for all players, same in these special events.

Besides the top rewards, there will be given out currency to the participants based on your ranking. This currency (crystals) is already available trough event drops and they can be traded. Seem to me this system is very low entry to everyone.
