Vet armor patch on newbie robe?

I used all of my cloak armor patches on newbie cloaks.. So I'd say yes, except that the patches are better used on actual blessed items, because newbie ones aren't blessed on reds.. and with expensive cloth, you can make more money.

Newbie clothing cannot be destroyed in combat. Just in case you guys missed it. (searching for armor patches and where they come from I stumbled upon this post.)
