Earlier this year two changes were made that had a direct impact on the ingot market. While I predicted a certain impact on the ingot market, I would assume other changes would follow to keep things balanced. This wasn't the case and only four months later the effects are becoming visible. The changes I'm talking about:
March 2017: - Mining now gives a chance to spawn mobs that drop nice stuff
April 2017: - All swampy barding deeds now have the same damage reduction
I don't say this out of self interest, I can adapt and mine whatever color thats is currently popular. What I want is to address the issue that the demand and supply are shifting and that a low end ore is becoming increasingly more valuable compared to an end game ore. I believe some adjustments are in order to restore balance because the effects are already huge considering the changes haven't been live for even half a year.

March 2017: - Mining now gives a chance to spawn mobs that drop nice stuff
- Lower overall supply of resources: The change had the desired impact and there are less afk botters these days. The lowest found iron ingot price has risen from 6.5 to 7.5 within the first 2 months (but this seems stable now due to the NPC 8.0 roof price).
- Oversupply of valorite and agapite: Those who adapted found it much easier to obtain valorite and agapite as the mobs drop significant amounts of them. I dare to claim that you gain valorite equally fast this way compared to recall mining on valorite nodes. So now cherry pickers as normal miners are flooding the market. The lowest found valorite ingot price has dropped from 54.0 to 50.0 within the first 2 months. I couldn't comment on agapite as it barely moves in the market but I'd be happy if I could still get 40.0 for it today.
April 2017: - All swampy barding deeds now have the same damage reduction
- Over demand of shadow: Shadow is the most popular color compared to the other colors. Since these changes a lot of people have been trading and upgrading their swampies with a shadow armor. Ofcourse there are a few ones who prefer another color like gold or verite, but overall shadow is the dominant color. The lowest shadow price has risen from 15.0 to 20.0 within two months.
- Under demand of valorite: Since other colors are equally good, valorite demand has dropped to nearly zero. Why use the most expensive material when you can have a lot of other more appealing options that are cheaper. As a result I see the lowest valorite price continues to drop from 50.0 to 45.0 within two months.
