We really don't even pay attention to other servers lately. You cannot do this, with the amount of players we have on a part time basis and without a pretty decent staff at hand. No other server has really put anywhere near the effort, time and money we have into this. Three years into this and people joining everyday still, it's safe to say it doesn't matter what other servers do anymore. Servers launch, ask for donations then flop within 6 months because they simply just can't put in the time plus have a full career it seems (or just don't generally understand what players want). Not all servers but 99% of them for sure. This has been an ongoing thing since we started UOF and there has been at least 10+ servers launched within that time, all of which died before a 6 month period.
They just keep relaunching over and over and if people want to roll the dice on a new server then that's totally their choice, there's nothing we can do about that and we absolutely accept that.

We focus on what we do and that's all that is important. With that said it's better to have an expansion after a server launches. People seriously and continually underestimate the amount of dedicated time that it takes to not only run a server, but put in new content, ensure people are constantly flowing in and then dealing with all those people on a daily basis.

By now we are veterans in how this all works and playing with us is a safe bet.

Also have you seen this lately? There's a serious amount of people who have a serious amount of time invested here.

Very well said. You won't see me leaving UO:F for anything! This is the only server that has ever captured the true feeling of Ultima Online for me. Can't wait to see what all you have in store for us in the future!!
