Release it and it should turn into an egg in your backpack. So do it in your house or at the docks.

I'm confident UT will turn into an egg, not sure it will go to your pack anymore so do it in your house.

If you, yourself, release it, the egg will appear in your bag. If it goes wild because you left it somewhere or someone boated him, the egg will drop to the ground.
