All these posts acting like they are sad about losing 1 joker, yet no one cares about $ making a dozen people quit every day. Something seems fishy.

A lot of us players care greatly but right now staff seem focused on reds being the problem.

@Adam @Shane know of the current problems and as such I am sure they are working on possible solutions. I know they know because I annoying link them often lately because I fear they didn't have a full grasp on the current situation in game.

In @GluttonySDS name I pray they have refocused their recent proposals but we care very much..... And will keep on.....

The idea that supports Idocing by its very nature is a bad thing. I can't say I have walked away from any idoc with a sense of joy. Due to what it represents;

it is the Ultima Online equivalent to a funeral

Show up and be respectful but one shouldn't gloat in the permanent misfortunes of fellow players. There is far to few of us less as a greater community to relish in such things. It is shameful to see regardless of the loot that you may be Donald Ducking right now.

I hope you use some of the loot to help new players as a nice gesture, if nothing else. Teardrops of water cannot know themselves to be river yet the river flows on. Don't be a fucking damn.....

PCH helps more new players than probably anyone on the server, Guwap/Greenbud and I have not only bought houses for, but completely stocked many new players over the last two months. We actually thought about recording it/ taking screen shots to show what some reds do for people on this server. However, when I see nothing being done about scum who multi-client 3 tamers all day every day-- monopolizing everything good in this game, yet reds still being the focal point of punishment-- whats the point right?

its actually bad to give new players houses let alone stocked. Rather if they get their own houses then they get more of that sense of earning which helps them want to stay and feel like they're having fun.

The best way to help new players really is to hold new player contests like trivia, dice, chickenfights. even a young 7x turny at the docks would be kinda cool. But ya just giving new players big stuff is not the way to go.

Ya noobs, start from dirt! It's so much fun!

Except new players typically just want to play for fun, whereas procuring them a place to store their shit and giving them basic stock to start playing the game gets them fastracked to fun. And if they're having fun, they're sticking around. And if they're sticking around, they're (maybe) donating. And if they're sticking around and donating, hopefully they're not being snobs about the fact that they are donators and expecting everything to go their way.

But that's a whole different thread.

Guwap just smoked the fuck out of Hanesboi ^

Anyone who can't handle a house and some goodies given to them (ENDGAME BOIIII) wasn't gonna hack it here anyway. Hanes trivia contests? Responsible for about half of our current population.

Thanks, Haney. Doing the lord's work tbh.

I keep forgetting to refresh my house because teleport tiles don't refresh and I built my house to one day be a vendor house so no doors. @AssHat has saved my bacon a few times. Just starting to get into the daily routine of double clicking my sign. Congrats on a nice IDOC and that sucks for the one that lost everything. Such is the life of UO.

Light at the end of the tunnel is you now can start rebuilding and gives you a fresh goal and hopefully all your primo gear was in your bank.

Visited the Ice IDOC like 45min before it had collapsed...

Someone told me it got changed from GW to IDOC 2 hours ago before that first visit, so I had an assumption that it will fall in the night, when I would be sleeping. Local time was around 21:00 then, so didn't pay attention to that IDOC. So its bit bummer. Yet at the same time I was lawling to some $ reds getting an IDOC (with no timer), which had nothing interesting to loot. Just the 18x18 plot in Trinsic jungle.

Funny and glad they didnt get this epic IDOC lol. Enjoy ur money & epic stuff @Hydro & @Slick Brick ! Still we want a screenshot, or it DIDNT HAPPEN. ;) I know it had some epic stuff inside tho and many backpacks.

And at least we got 2 IDOCs that day, which was nice. Someone came 2 minutes too late to one of them.

Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose! :)

The first part I totally agree, giving new players the feel of achievement that they earned there first house. Yes it's always nice to get free items but I witness someone give some newb 50 swords skill scrolls and healing and others. Why not let them earn it. I feel that giving someone a tour or helping them get situated when they first start is the best. Also offering them another way to contact you lets them know they can ask someone for help or questions. Referr them to the website as well! I would even go as far as charging them 20 gold for some crafted armor or whatever.

Also wanted to add players do have blank areas marked and I know pch does it for new players that cannot find a place able area to get them going.
Bromista also has a nice taming guide for new tamers as well.

I was given a small house when I first started and it didn't kill my drive at all. Just gave me a nice safe place to move stuff around between my characters. It was a small sandstone house in serpents pass, I in turn gave it to a new guild mate when he first started UOF. I don't think giving little starter houses hurts anything. Heck the house I live in now started as a villa that @AssHat gave me since he was moving to a new place. I've turned it into a custom house and I still have ambitions for it and for owning a 18x18 fully stocked.

It all depends on the person and just what their goals in UOF are.

i probably even have screenshots of you setting up traps with your alt tamer and casting fire and poison fields so that your pets wud attack whoever goes through them :>

on a different note: he doesn't seem to care. He has been set up with Butler access, and apparently that is all he needs for now.

PS: @Slick Brick is still a raging white trash nerd

Yeah I mean I'm sure Ty was plenty happy when he was poor. Never really gave a fuck just in it for the PvP.

All that stuff though...yeah I mean it's a big hit but easy come easy go...I don't see what all this one less player business is about lol.
