Tailoring

I think it's better there rather than orc's cave, isn't it? or in the orc's cave is faster?
They are the same.

You may also consider training in the crafter's guild as you get a reduction is used resources there and an increased chance at exceptional.

Dungeons = pk/thief chance but faster gains.
Crafter's guild = thief chance but use less materials.
House = no thief or pk but use like 4x time and materials. Choose your risk vs. Reward.

If you're still a new player, use the new player dungeon. Granted, if you're still a new player no one will be able to loot you.

I GM'd tailoring in the new player dungeon really fast.

Like Halygon said, there's a tradeoff. The crafting area saves you resources but you gain slower; ultimately taking a little more resources to max out the skill. Alternatively, dungeons are fastest skill gains but you're exposing yourself to higher risk. Of course, every time you get pked you'll lose some resources.

It's hard to say which will ultimately cost you more to lvl. If you don't get pked at all (unlikely) then you'll definitely do best in the dungeon. Town crafting is relatively save though.

Actually there was a thread on this (I think it was with blacksmithy though -- but same idea). They found that when GM, going the dungeon method is about 8K cheaper than going with the crafter's guild method. The dungeon method was also much faster. Again though, is 8K (approximately) and some additional time worth it so you do not need to worry about Pks or dying to spawn? That's the trade-off.

That sounds about right.

I 4x GM'd a crafter pretty quick using dungeon bonus. I did tailoring in the newbie dungeon because that char was a new player at the time. Then I ran down to lvl 3 orc cave and grabbed an orc mast off the ground (they spawn down there) and GM'd mining and smithing. All the orcs drop shovels so you can loot other ppl's kills and it's super easy.

Then I just packhorse harvested wood in town and took it down into the dungeon in batches to GM carp.

Dungeon crafting is definitely worth your while. It's just a risk.
