it drops in a pirate chest along with any boat ad on's and the guy who sunk you loots it.
Lol i have some other questions too.
What happens if i log out on my boat? is it vulnerable to attack? can it be stolen? can the cargo contents be taken and will they decay?
Would be real handy if there was a guide, there has been so many changes to the boat system since i last used it.
Perhaps with the help of everyone we can get a load of answers in one place and sticky it.

they cant be stolen anymore if sunk when you are afk it will goto the bank and u will lose the items in the hold.
tbh thou items in hold have never been safe it is possible to board and loot almost anyship

if you apply boat upgrades you will lose them when boat sinks
