Summon Daemon Movement Speed

ok..as a low level solo meta Mage, I run around with nothing under my robe to gain the full xp bonus. Due to the size my target MOBs I use summoned daemons extensively as a "meat shield". So far so good. Yesterday, I made lvl 4 (yay!) and added a Vivify. In the same non farming period, I decided to join a faction. The day before yesterday, a freshly summoned daemon could easily keep up with me as I trotted around. Now, from the summon, they lag miles behind. Pretty much halving my farming speed, due to having to wait for them to catch up after each kill. They also seem quite a bit weaker, however I can't absolutely quantify this. The speed has deffinately changed for me in the last 24 hrs. They simply can no longer keep up regardless how fresh they are.

Is this from the Vivify, or the faction joining?
Or have summon speeds been dialed down?

Any help would be appreciated. If this speed is the norm I may need to adjust my farming style. I find myself conducting more risky behavior, as mobs are often poached if I choose to wait.

Cheers

Thanks mate, was pretty sure that must of been the case. Weaker too I bet?
Only petspeed is affected here. When in factions, pets move at the normal speed - when not in factions, pets move at an escalated rate.

Also, nice forum name - I love David Eddings books.

Thanks for the clarification! And spontaneous memory lane trip!

Belgarion series /Sparhawk series were my first ever fantasy books as a very young lad. 25years later I can still remember the suspension of reality feelings elicited by this particular master writer. Maybe this is because of the formative age of experience, UO had the same for me. I love that we can tap into some of that magic by playing the game decades later, it's like a tunnel to the past :)
