After a successful week one in the Summer League of Tournaments , it is time to post the rules and details of week 2. It was brought to my attention that 7pm EST was too early for many PSTers to enter. So week two will start on Saturday August 25th at 10pm eastern time. Sign ups will be available at 930pm eastern at the Britain docks dueling pits.
Currently the prize pool for this event is 1.75million gold. This weeks major sponsor is RiS. Other donations are very appreciated and welcome to the pot and will also receive acknowledgement. If you or your guild wants to be the major sponsor of a future given week, you can also contact me to set that up ahead of time. If you wish to help out, contact Akasha#3243 in UOF general discord, or here on forums. All charitable contributions are extremely appreciated.
Also a huge thanks to Staff member Fay for taking time out to help set this up last week as an automated tournament. Without her help, the tournament would of lasted 3 times as long.
Now before the ruleset for next week. Lets address an issue from the last tournament. One of the two finalists was caught by many viewers, and then confirmed by video evidence afterwards to of used what has to basically be viewed as an exploit. I still paid out the winning purse to them, but am officially issuing a warning to that player who knows who he is, and we know who he is, that future sliming of the rules will be automatic DQ from both tournament and league. To gain a non game intended advantage against the field in that ruleset. The player used a brand new created character with 10 intelligence to enter the tournament. Utilizing the [templates command to be able to duel with full ability. However, when special abilities such as concussion blow are applied, it was applied to their initial 10 intelligence , and the player only lost 5 mana rather than 50. I was not aware of this until afterward and just commented wow, conc doesnt last long here eh? when the player consistently dumped 80+ mana of spells on his opponent shortly after being concussed repeatedly. This will not be allowed in future events, and finalists will be checked before being awarded any prize support. If a finalist is caught doing something of this nature, or anything else deemed clearly not intended in game or by the rules, in the future they will be subject to immediate disqualification. First place prize will go to their opponent, and second place prize money will roll over to the following weeks prize pool. With that out of the way........
Week two of Summer League of tournaments rule set will be :
5x Mage duels Pacific shard style
The only difference between 5x mage and Pacific dueling ruleset style is this, and its a major one :
Paralyze spell is allowable. Trapped pouches are not.
Pacific considered itself to be the ultimate in dueling communities in this era, and was quite conceited about them being the only community that allowed paralyze without trapped pouches. It added quite a bit of cat and mouse play between the mages involved. You could not get caught with your pants down not having a breaker readily available. This should do a few things. It should be a ruleset most have not seen here before, bringing entertainment. It should allow for duels to be quicker. Which is a notorious failing of large 5x tournaments , that the duels are so long. And it should allow participants to have a week practicing a variable they are not yet familiar with.
As of now the prize is 1.75 million gold. 1.25 million for first place 500k for second. 250k held back for Overall league prize. Will update the pool/and sponsor list as week goes along. Huge thanks to RiS for their generous contribution of 1 million gold this week.

Remember 1st place league finisher in points will receive at this point 20k donation coins. That also maybe increase over the leagues tenure as sponsors choose to help out.
Thank you all for coming this week.
