Stats are locked - why?

I run a mage/archer bard and have the following stats:

Str: 76
Dex: 95
Int: 54

I want to increase str and decrease dex and so I've put arrow up on str and arrow down on dex (int is locked), but nothing is happening. Something must be wrong here, right?

You need to work a skill that primarily raises strength, that skill also can not be a down arrow or locked. If your skills are 700 (720 if ps) just lock those skills, put an up arrow on something like mining and go mining.

Ok, that was new to me. I have the following skills:

Provo 100 ish (on my way to 105)
Music 100
Archery 100
Tactics 100
Magery 100
Med 100
Resist 100

All skills are locked except provo which is arrow up. But you mean that I need to use some other skill than these to actually work str up?

Just point up archery and you should be fine.

all i did was this.

Make sure your are 700 capped to do this

To raise str use macro arms lore (pointed up)
Dex use Snooping (pointed up)
Int use Item ID (pointed up)

You DO NOT need skill gains to change your stats

Provo only raises dex and int I believe, probably why you're not getting any gains
