So, someone stole my name in game...

I'm the only Razimus, who took my name? I know someone took it because it was a name associated with the Ultima/UO community. Kinda annoying, don't know if I will last on this shard with my name stolen.

Nah that's too weak, see, I've been playing UO since beta phase 1 e3 1997, had a website, Raz's Ultima Page, razimus everything dot everything slash everything.... checked out uoforever when I first heard about it a few months back and made a few chars but didn't make Razimus cuz didn't know bout the unique name deal, didn't get a prompt back then because those names weren't taken I guess, if I knew about the unique name rule I would have.

Didn't know about UO the way it has always been? For someone who started in 97 it should have been known things were this way and not taking that name was a mistake from the get-go.

However I do feel for you. Because...well...when you could have stuck it out and bided your time in hopes that the char will get deleted and name made available again, you opted to make a thread of entitlement. If the owner of that name sees this you can almost bed it's not gonna happen based on spite alone. People are cool like that, especially here on UOF.

All hope is not lost, however. I had to wait months and months for Whoracle, but eventually I got my hands on it.

Anywho, not the end of the world.

Have you considered any alternate names? Here's a few off the top of my head:

-a lil bit black
-rap for dayz(zzzzz)
-had ta f ur baby
-skeet skurt
-shrimp club

PM me if all those are taken I can come up with a bunch more winners I'm sure.

serious: sucks about the name being taken.

Uhmmm..... no..... you must be new to the amazing world of Ultima Online, because dawg, UO *NEVER* and I mean never, ever, ever ever ever, never never, ever ever never, ever ever, never never, ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever, never ever ever ever ever ever time a billion dude, never ever had unique name qualifications, there were thousands of Bobs, hundreds of Johns, dozens of Mikes, I personally had multiple Razimus characters on the same shard dawg, so I you must be confusing UO with WoW or somethin' because it never had such rules.

Anyway I found my old 1.5 year old UO Forever account, and turns out I do have the name Razimus hooray, forgot about it, didn't know I logged in, but I checked my chardata on the random shards I have been over the years and there it was, UO Forever, bada bing bada boom.

But I doubt you were a player back in the day man, cuz, names weren't unique or reservable back in the day, period. I played during the 1997 E3 Beta Phase 1 test, still have the disk on my shelf.

Have 3 UDIC names, the first one dating back to 1997, yet most peeps who question me don't even know what the UDIC is. So info from me is legit dawg, because I'm legit, too legit to quit son.

Nah those name are lames dawg, but I found my 500+ day old account and it has my name! So I stole my own name! lol, but those suggestions are great and everyone here should jump on them if they aren't already gone, I just saw someone login with a new character named "a miley cyrus" so good names are still available you just have to think of them.

Did you happen to smoke a lot of crack over the last 15 years? Cause that's the only way you could have forgotten that OSI had unique names per shard.

I don't think they did though. Atleast in the 97-99ish era
Beta-- no.. but in late 97 when they started the first set of patches (prior to the publishes we know), this was implemented. On the character creation screen, it would tell you that the name was already taken.
