So I tried Recall Mining... I'm not a fan.

Its Laborious, and not really faster then going to my goto spot near a forge... Now I gotta bank full of ore, and need a way to smelt it.. I guess I'll have to pack horse it?

I found a nice mining spot with a forge, that yields every kind of ore except verite. I went from 50-GM there and never once was PK'd. It's my cozy little go-to spot, so don't hate me but I don't want to share it.

Point is just find a good spot and stick to it. Recall mining is a ridiculous concept to me, tons of mines have forges and a lot of others have houses very close (1-2 screens away) with forges on the front steps.

The idea of recall mining involves storing your ore in a secure container in your home(which is typically next to a forge), or recalling to just a forge, and then banking ingots.
If you just threw all the ore in your bank, you dun goofed. I'd suggest smelting it at either minoc or moonglow as their forges/smith shops are rather close to their banks.

Cove works too if you're homeless, but just drop it off at home. The best part of recall mining is being able to target just the specific color of ore you want.

Ya I got a spot I can literally mine all day and not see one person and it's got forge and all ore. Then I have the runes for colored ore but I've never recall mined I old school it recall when full and then hit the colored spots that's bout it

Recall mining is better when you want one type of ore. If you don't care, you're better off in a cave

Is there a way to do recall mining with the white and grey rocks or does it work only in caves. I haven't been able to figure out how to target the rocks using steam or razor...

You. Could try manually targeting them. It works for me.
