Slayer Smith Hammer

I was in brit smith area tonight and was working on making weapons. I am 120 blacksmith and while I was making weapons I broke my smith hammer. I pulled out my tinker set (gm tinker) and crafted a smith hammer, the thing is, I made a slayer smith hammer. I thought only weapons where slayer weapons. A smith hammer is not a weapon in the game.

Has this happened to anyone else.?

I think you can wield a smith hammer just like you can a pick-axe. Maybe not the most efficient weapon, but you can still hit someone with it.

I thought slayer weapons where made from blacksmith/bowcraft not a tinker. @Adam or @Shane can you tell us if this should be happening or is it a bug ?

Slayer weaps can be made by carpenter (staffs), Tinker - Smith hammers and picks, fletchers, and smiths.
