Not sure how familar you are with creating macros via Razor.

The "Bard Table" in deceit is a fairly commonly used area for macroing provocation. You can provoke mobs onto yourself, and be outside of melee range. We generally prefer this method, as staff, as it won't land you stuck behind pillars and us getting constant pages that players are stuck. Unattended Macroing of most skills is allowed here at UOF, however I'll take the time to quickly point out that Unattended Taming is not allowed, nor is Unattended resource gathering.

I wish you luck! You may also wish to contact @Desi via the forums to set yourself up in the "New" guild, designed to aid new players and get them on their feet quicker with game mechanics and starting equipment!

I hope you enjoy your stay here at UOF!

The new player dungeon is designed to give brand new players a means of learning the basic mechanics of the game. Which is why some of our devoted players have taken it upon themselves to create the "New" guild. A place where once these basic mechanics are learned, they can start inquiring from veteran players through guild chat (typing / in game) as well a other new players to see what paths they may choose to take first.

Hi Dreifub, as Bryce mentioned our [NEW] guild serves as an excellent support network for new players trying to get on their feet. As I'd love to extend an invite, pm me your character name if interested and we can get you added tonight or when conveniently possible. Also you can snag me as Cassandra Hope in-game.

Welcome to the shard!

The provoke table in deceit 1 is definitely what you want to do. You will need to pull together some cash to buy a bunch of instruments but you definitely want to get provoke done before you lose young status because griefers periodically train that place to get everyone killed and it will be a lot easier to do provoke if you don't drop your instruments when you die.

Provoke is a skill that will make it extremely easy for you to raise the other skills on your template. That said, I prefer a prov/melee to a prov/archer because of higher dps and therefore higher faster cash. It's higher risk too, but I like risk.

So you basically use your non-bard skills to make a little bit of cash while banging on an instrument for music skill gains. Then macro music to 80 or so (will gain 50% faster in a dungeon). Then hit the prov table with a macro to use item of type (instrument), provoke rotting corpse, target self.

You can easily make it to 100 prov in a day if you check on it periodically to make sure you recover from being griefed when that happens.
