Sheep on this Shard

Is is better to sheer the sheep and let it live, or sheer it and then kill it? Just wondering because I'm trying to raise my tailoring skill and I want to gather cloth the fastest.

Thanks for your time!

I would harvest cotton and flax as well as wool to get the most cloth as quick as possible. As for respawning of wool on sheep, I have never noticed an appreciable difference in the respawn rate of letting it grow back or just killing them off.

It's better to kill the sheep, as they are quicker to respawn, then they are to regrow their wool.

it's better to tame them, and let them multiply and sheer them and wait for them to grow again while continuing to tame :) as taming them makes the respawn timer start.

let me see if i understang correctly;

say theres a sheep isle with 1 sheep, u tame it, respawn clock will start ticking, 1 new sheep appears, u tame it too, but if u release these two, will third sheep appear?

so could we iinfestate the wilderness with easily tameables?
if this holds, combined with herding could lead to some interesting scenarios...
