Serious question

I do quite a bit of open world PvP here Adramelech. Sadly, it RvB at brit bridge, or fighting a couple reds who house hide the second the odds arent in their favor. I miss the guild wars and massive battles outside of towns/moongates. I really think thats why I feel the way I do about PvP here. Its just gank squads everywhere. Reds get ganked overworld, while blues get ganked in dungeons.

That's because stat-loss. The changes to murder counts should fix that.

Most people I'm sure joined this shard because of the FEL rule set...

With all of these changes coming up, it is pretty apparent that someone/a few/a lot of people have been crying because they are dying.

My question is, why change nearly every ideal that this server was based on because a select few (donators I am assuming) complain?

I mean, wands? Magical properties to weapons? Permanent stat in dungeons? Powerscroll prices are going to drop significantly

In the original thread, someone even said "I wish I could have trammel." Like WTF? Seriously?

I love everything you guys have done so far, but what I read in that thread literally blew my mind in the worst way.


Drives me nuts when someone says "Donator?" when it comes to changes that they don't agree about. At this point the majority of the server has donated in one way or another honestly. We don't and have NEVER made changes based on how much someone donates. We obviously wouldn't be here today if we did that....

As for the changes you stated, those are actually all changes that we wanted to implement to obtain a specific playerbase. We could potentially gain 50 or more players easily just by adding wands to faction only. If we added Sallos (strickly)? Another 100.
As for the magic abilities on the weapons, that was never a for sure decision.
As for the stat loss, we do need a change. When the system we currently have was implemented everyone was allowed (2) accounts, (3) characters max. Now, almost two years later, everyone is now allowed (3) accounts, and (4) default characters, while also having the ability to add more characters with the slot tokens. So over-time this has basically made it that people have so many reds that they really don't care if they die, they can just hop on another character making the entire system moot, and removing any and all punishments. There NEEDS to be a punishment for reds.


Hope that clears things up, we are all ears on some new stat loss changes, but for sure something needs to be changed. Maybe we can leave it as-is and force players to PAY to resurrect. If they have no gold at all they will have no choice but to take stat. Something like thaat.

If everyone has 3 accounts, how about account-wide temp statloss if a red dies?

If I lose 5 chars over a 6 hour period that's half my pks gone. The more I lose, the less willing I am to fight the bored blue pvp zergs.

48 hours is huge as it is, especially for real pks who take risks in fights. Sorry, but I just don't think you get it - no offence meant.

If u are referring to the lv1 pks who house hide and just plain grief, then simply punish them with new stat changes for newbie areas, but not end game zones.

I bounced back and forth from Destard and Shame 5 yesterday evening for about 3 hours, didn't see 1 RED! However, i was attacked by two different blues on two different occasions in Shame 5. Found a good red fight at Brit bank just before i logged for the night though. Just Sayin.
I really reallyl really hate the idea of wands and magic weapons.. Ill give into statloss on reds and pray for factions to grow..

My point on the wands is that you have stated specifically numerous times that you do NOT want the pvp to be item based... And that is item based as fuck.

99% sure that you have even said that there will NEVER be wands.

It has been said a thousand times, the players we risk losing by implementing a penalty system (even a soft one, such as the one suggested) don't need to be here in the first place.

They're the griefers, newb-killers, shit-talkers (I only talk shit on the people who deserve it, basically the players being mentioned in this breakdown), the do anything to gain an advantage PvPers. You know, the hardcore PvPers that do not contribute to the server and only detract from it.

If a minor and necessary change is all it takes to cry bloody fucking murder then maybe you shouldn't be a murderer in the first place. Think about it.

Take a break "God", you are clearly frazzled because you are in the minority on stat loss and you can't see where the discussion has been going.

Staff responds to backlash, but only when it is logical. The backlash against harsher PK penalties is unjustified and thus will not be heard.

Backlash regarding wands and all that shit, well that will be heard especially as it contradicts the mission statement of UOF as you demonstrated above.

So you made one good point, now kindly move on with your whining.

And my whole point behind even bringing up the "FEL ruleset" is that a majority joined this shard FOR that and everything that came along with it.

People want to do champs with no worries at all. That is not an assumption, I have seen people literally say that.

It doesn't matter at all. If anything, it's just as bad if not worse.. Seeing as they are trying to up the faction/order/chaos fighting.
