I am trying to find a miner or ingot vendor that is regularly stocked with coloured ingots. PM me or post the location of any names or vendors that you know of please!

Lemme know if you need shovels. Free of charge, of course. Whatever I can do to help.... :p

Just don't make me mine.

Had double smelting for coloured ore been ruled out? Maybe implement it on a reducing scale as the ore level increases?

Or make the chance at a higher level ore or the amount a spot yields increase with skill? This would also promote mining and also make higher level skill and smithing gloves useful for more than smelting.

Mining at its current state cant keep up server demand. Every miner I start buying from burns out in a few weeks. With ore weight same as logs you would see a great supply increase in the system. More than likely bringing armor prices down which means better loot for pks :)

Hmmm. And then when the supply quickly caught up with demand...the price of the commodity will drop, and all the miners who have been chugging away get punished. Hooray, twice the effort for half the profit - they're gonna love you for that, lol.

Taming is pretty hard too...everyone should get at least a GM skillstone of it to start off with, right ? An unfucked-with economy should correct itself, by rewarding higher prices for ores until demand is met, and/or encouraging more folks to spend an hour mining if they desperately need ingots that aren't available. Once you start artificially screwing a games economic system, you can't get it back, imho.

The problem is that the ingots are available on npcs which sets a floor that is artificial. It screws the actual miners.

Only for Iron mate, and at 10gp/per - decent income can be made. The hard part is the willingness to give up other activities to focus on the collection.

Not sure about faction vendors but iron is very easy to buy up in faction towns with -25% tax. Just recall around the smiths and tinkers until they have 960 ingots each at 8gp. The you can easily buy 20+k an hour.

Changing log weight didnt hurt the economy. It exploded it in many ways. The ingots might drop a little but not enough to get butt hurt over. Valorite will prolly bottom out around 50gp which is still a good price. It will also open up plate armor market very nicely.
