One of those programs at least I know for a fact makes response time faster than razor, which allows the player to gain faster mobility in things like PvP or obtain loot from corpses. Then we also have more sophisticated macros thanks to scripting!

This is exactly why introducing multiple 3rd party programs to run a same client is a bad idea. Razor was first and the only one allowed on this server for some time and that should've remained like that. Now, if things remain as they are basically what's happening is whoever allowed these other 3rd party programs allowed others to gain advantage against the rest of the community.

Anyways, I'm just informing the community of how things are as they are. Razor fulfilled all the things I needed. So, it's crystal clear to me the agenda behind introducing these new 3rd party programs later on.

Holy shit thank you for informing the community of how things are.. because 1000 people haven't cried over the past 3 years about this same nonsense.

Been discussed so many times.

Even when it was only razor some people were using Sallos on here.

Every client has its own advantages and disadvantages. Just because someone is gaining a small advantage with one client, doesn't mean they have all the advantages of the other client as well.
^^Pretty much true. Depending on what you are doing(crafting, pvp, pvm, etc), some advantages might outweigh others, but all in all there is no one best client.

what does razor do better than steam/sallos? regarding pvp, im curious
Razor is quicker than in some things. Switching weapons is an example. There are quite a few top tier pvpers that use nothing but razor and do great against other players using other clients. I don't think the argument that one client makes you win over others is truly valid.

grab has no delay on steam
It actually has a horrible delay. Sallos' grab is super fast.

UOS grid is also slow. It also only shows so many items on a page before you have to flip to the next page. For looting on the fast, it's not the option to go.

Or just further evidence to back up what I said. Anyways, Shane gave his response and reasoning for introducing these programs "a ton of people disliked Razor" (clearly for what they could do with these programs to gain advantage vs the other Razor users). Well, I dunno how many Razor users are left out there, but considering how he made Razor the only option for a year+ I'm quite sure there is another "ton" of so that will dislike these other programs, especially when they get more informed on the disadvantage they find themselves at as well as basically telling us to either adapt to these n00b friendly programs or remain at this disadvantage.

The only solution to keep all pleased and on even ground is to remove as much exploiting as possible in his game, not the opposite. He chose Razor as his default client for us for year+ and now he chooses something else because some individuals disliked not being able to be on even ground with the rest.
This shard was Razor only for just a couple months. It has been Razor and UOS longer than anything else. Sallos is what is remotely new.

I don't think razor is bad at all except for its compatibility with newer versions of Windows. The dual client warning and hard to update macros are what turn me off from it.

I am a little perturbed though that you are pushing razor on others the exact same way you are saying others are pushing non-razor clients on you.

Can auto pull bars with steam. Not sure if it works on this server though. I'll test it tonight when I'm done with family stuff. Honestly you'd be surprised what you can do with steam. I'm just not sure HOW much of it works here. Only just learning about these things.

Some really insane pvp stuff too, I haven't messed with the profiles I was given yet though. I'll report back in this thread if any of it works.

It *can* pull bars but the setup for it is just plain silly and isn't exactly the best thing ever - so much so, it's not really an advantage at all. I use UOS and I don't pull bars at all except in certain circumstances. To each their own I guess.

Here's a short list of advantages/disadvantages for each client.

Sallos:
Pros:
- Smooth graphics and animations
- smart targeting that works
- setting targets offscreen
- quick grab
- pretty nice hotkey map
- nice map (not as good as UOS)
- animations are accurate (i.e. Exp pot actually lands on a player when it explodes)
- Targeting cursors for AOE Spells
- Sticky bars

Cons:
- Basic macro capability (similar to uo built in macros)
- Doesn't have updated art library (means newer UO art and mobs do not show)
- Buggy in a lot of ways
- Difficult to configure
- No profiles

Razor
Pros:
- Easy to configure
- Processes actions/macros fast
- Reads Journals that UOS cannot
- Has scavenger
- Dress actions work good
- Profiles

Cons:
- Buggy with newer versions of Windows
- Hard to update macros
- Macro engine not as good as UOSteam
- Targeting actions are fairly basic
- Uses standard UO graphics
- Basic map

UOSteam
Pros:
- Macro engine is robust
- Stable in all versions of Windows
- Best map features
- Scavenger
- Spell Grid
- Profiles
- Best Targeting features (although you cannot set of screen targets)

Cons:
- Macros are hard to make
- Some actions are slower than other clients
- Uses standard UO graphics
- Smart targeting system is fairly bad

I never played this server when it was Razor only, and I wouldn't. I absolutely hate that program and I'm not shy about it.

uosteam makros are hard ? lol
Not everyone knows how to use scripting languages and the macro recorder for UOS is a bit too specific (uses nothing but serials) to make useful macros that can be used more than once. So yes, ppl find it much harder to use.

I guess our opinions of staff bashing are different.

We shall agree to disagree.
No, bash staff and there are consequences. A public thread is not the place to voice any concerns you have about a staff member. Take it up with Shane in a PM.

Only because I like you haly.

Holds opinions in about a "staff" member for a bit longer then.
