Running two clients at the same time

Hello

I understand that running 2 clients at the same time is not a feature supported :), just want to see if anyone has the same experience

When I have two clients on, every now and then, about every 5 mins (especially when I switch windows frequently), one of the client would freeze for about a minute

Has anyone had this before?

To resolve this follow these steps :
If you are running windows 7 or equivalent you need to disable visual themes if you are using an aero theme and want your counters to work, make sure that the execution of alll .exe's associated with UO are ran as administrator and try disabling the desktop composition in the compatibility settings and see if that helps. Just as an extra precaution, make sure to set compatibility to windows XP service pack 3.

That should resolve the hanging issue.

... Or use a program that is up to date like uosteam, which easily supports multiple clients at once. Too bad it's gonna be out for the count till the devs work with the uos devs....

But darkarena is correct, you are not having a multi client issue but more of a "running a current version of windows" issue.

If you make a macro in razor to use your newbie dagger for example then play this macro when the client locks up out of razor itself it will unfreeze the client. Also- is it actually Taboo to be running two clients at the same time? I could not find anywhere in the FAQ or Terms about this?

No not taboo.. Razor just sucks at it... And does not officially support it, hence the message that appears at the start of the second client.

Gotcha. I was wondering because there are alot of people that yell about "paging/banning for multiclient" when I recall out on one account to switch to the second account. So I'm not sure about all that mess, as I see loads of people doing it constantly all day.

People...people are baby bitches. Especially when it comes to things they see others doing yet cannot do proficiently themselves. And then there's a hundred other people who see one guy crying foul and they follow suit. Disregard.

Furthermore, I almost never crash while dual clienting and I do all kinds of dumb shit at the same time with them. I wonder why so many others have trouble, or if there are just a lot of posts about them because so many people are just now getting on razor.

That is true. For the most part it seems to be a non-issue, but it seems to be when toggling that it happens most often. *shrugs*

Well for me the crashing/freezing occurs with one or two clients open. But it is more frequent with two. I've used razor a lot in the past, so I knew how to set it up perfectly without that posted video by Alan. But in using uosteam since it came out (as assistuo like 8-9 months ago) I had forgotten how horrible razor runs in comparison till now. When I was on razor alone, I thought how it ran was great.. I guess I just didn't have anything to compare it to.
