No Runic get destroyed only created, all they have to do is repair them and they get an end game item forever for Events. my suggestion is that each time you repair a runic it's durability goes down 5 or 10 until you cant repair it. i guess the same should go for Runic armor as well, Events are highly weighted toward the rich who can afford these end game weapons and armor.

while this is true (to some degree) I have to disagree with your suggestion.. I've killed valorite runic wielding dexxers playing a nekkid Mage, and I regularly get up to the top3 of top dmg in CTF playing an Alchymage.

Who is your event char senor KAZ?

Gear in events is O.K.

Some tournies have no runic rules etc.

Put in the work to fill the runics or pay for good gear and reap the benefit.

That is all.

1-1.5 mil i charged for my val hammer charges, that is not a bad price to pay to try and be a top scorer in something. barbed suits are cheap. and those two things are about as top as you will get besides event item gear, which is rarely ever seen.

the rest of runic weapons seem to sell fine, they have just started to come down a little in price from a year when i started, so the market still must be fine with the no dura loss/break.

I have plenty of Runics being a disarm thief i have more than ill ever need. that being said this is the message your sending to new players (make 1-1.5 mill just so you can compete with other players in a event that allows anyone to join.) CTF and other event should be based on skill not how good your items are. if you are new to the server you are automatically at a disadvantage for all events. Plus in very short time the server will be overrun with these valorite runics. Not to mention the Item bless deeds that are around, do we really want a blessed Val runic that lasts forever. I have played other shard before and have seen how harmful these items can be once everyone has them. (without risk of losing them)

First, why does everyone think that as a new player you should be able to compete with veterans? have to start at the bottom and work your way up, like everyone does everywhere. i watch a lot of pvp events,ctf, king of hill, etc, and i see top players using normal gear. runics are not where its at. there is less than 60 val weapons on here over 3+ years for thousands of people that have come and gone. and being blessed? HA there is 3 blessed weapons in game already, 2 of which you will never ever see. and Tolga the val blessed short spear, he does not use it often. 1 more will not hurt the server. ALSO the IBD was won by a complete new player so lets see how giving the power of a veteran to a new player and see how this goes!!

There have been four val hammers turned in.

Verite weapons are very strong, cost a fraction of the price, and are more abundant.

Horned runic sewing kits are cheap and barbed really aren't that bad either because there have been dozens of barbed kits at this point. Price is dropping.

And even still I see plenty of people rocking that freebie exc gear.

I don't see the problem here. But then again I actually craft and put these hammers and sewing kits together myself so I'm probably a little biased for you know, doing stuff that's part of the game.

Oh, and one more thing:

Events are for funsies.

Selling horned runic sewing kits 100k a piece and a 10X Bronze Plate LBOD yielding gold runic hammer reward! Easy one to fill I just don't have any smalls for it.

While I agree with most of your statement, the first part is incorrect. The era we emulate, is not item based. @Shane himself has said he never wants it item based, and as far as pvp goes, he pretty much nailed it. (With a few exceptions)

So yes a new player, should be able to compete with vets with no money down.(besides training costs)

For the most part though, you can indeed compete with/beat vets as a new player, in pvp events anyhow.

Vals are nice and all, but far from needed.
