Rousey vs Holm

I watched the fight and it was a pretty good kick at just the right time.

I don't really care for either one too much but these types of wins always rub me wrong. Saw the same thing on Pacquio vs Marquez where the whole fight was one sided then a single hit wins it.

Makes you wonder who really is the better fighter as opposed to who just won a fight.

Well Ronda was pretty sloppy the whole first round. Holm was tagging her a lot and that first round would've gone to Holm for sure. So, sure, it may have been a single kick that finally knocked Ronda down, but, still, Holm was showing she was the dominant fighter in the fight. I think Ronda was being too aggressive and emotional (as the no touching of the gloves showed) and she just got a little careless.

Pretty good kick at the right time? She was dominating the entire fight. She easily won the first round and in the second round she punched Ronda dead in the face 4 times and elbowed he in the face. She also was keeping her at bay with oblique kicks. Before she went down it was pretty obvious Ronda was gassed already, she had never had a fight that long before (not that it was long). Not gonna lie, thought Ronda was going to win before the fight, but there was no lucky shot, the whole fight was Holms from start to finish.

She has done 3 rounds before against Tate. I think she just bought into her own bullshit and didn't take this fight seriously. With all those Reddit AMA's and movies she's doing I think she legitimately believed she was the most dominant athlete in the world and just tried to coast through it. Her behaviour at the weigh in and not touching gloves was bizarre though, she may be having personal issues or something. What's the bet she fires her coach?

ya i agree, it was way more than just a perfect timed kick. she got hit a few times as well, but rouseys usual bumrush and overpowering didnt work this time. bell to bell she was dominated

I don't know who told Rousey she was a boxer a few fights ago, but hopefully they fire that person. Seems like she is trying to fend off the, "one trick pony' claims. Should just keep winning with what you're good at IMHO. If she really went for a takedown I'm pretty sure that fight ends differently.

lol did you see her face? She was punch drunk walking in just eating lefts. Wtf was her game plan, 'stand in front of this boxer'?

This was one of the few women's mma fights I've seen that was fun to watch, I think it's good for the sport. Also think rousey will rematch and be not-******** and use her judo to get a submission win.

Probably bought into her coaches bullshit about being a great boxer and wanted to get a knockout.

This is the first time Rousey fought a real decorated fighter... I don't understand why most consider this a huge upset? Holly is a champion boxer, kick boxer and now MMA fighter? This is when we get to see if Rousey really is a champion cause you're not one until you've lost!

^^^ agree

the tough part imo, if its an immediate rematch and she loses again..then what? she really has to fight lights out now. anything less and she's "found the blueprint" ...thats what happens when youve been built up to be a goddess and the michael jordan of your sport after a few fights

Hopefully she doesn't go down the same road as a Shane Carwin. Unstoppable until he was beaten... now he is a nobody.

Boxers usually get stomped in mma especially if paired up against a wrestler/judo type. If Rhonda had not been walking in thinking she could trade with Holly and just gone straight takedown/submission I think it would have been a different fight. Holly did look ready and had decent takedown defense.

I don't watch much of this but I did watch the weigh ins and then the fight. Is she always that much of a poor sport when it comes to be civil? I didn't get the whole weigh in drama it was as if it was the WWE scripted shit and she didn't even believe it. Like her promotional person told her to do something stupid. Anyway, that fight was a domination, not that I know shit about it. But from what I saw it was clear who was in control. And ouch that shit looks painful reminds me why I don't watch ha

Maybe... but I think the Dana White hype and her own ego got in the way for this fight. Next time will be her real test.

Yep she is always that much of a poor sport. That's why so many loved to see her beaten. She needs to chew on some humble pie for a bit.

People will react the same way when Floyd gets beaten too.

Honestly that's most likely a Dana White call. Not many remember but before Chuck Liddell became the power house fighter we remember him as; he was a ground and pound grappler, and Dana told him if he wanted to remain in the UFC he needed to change styles because the vast majority of fans don't enjoy the ground game. (I do but I trained in it for years)

I suspect this is what is going on with Ronda as well. She was completely on tilt before the match even began. Nothing about that fight seemed like her norm.
