Remove Trap Skill Scrolls

Looking to purchase Remove Trap Skill Scrolls.

Currently at 75.6 Remove Trap and unfortunately already obtained GM Tinkering and Carpentry status on my mule so I'm screwed until I reach at least 80 Remove Trap, then I can start on GM Trapped Boxes.

Thanks!

Good luck, most people will tell you they don't drop, if they do they will prolly sell for more than Taming SSes to be honest. better off finding a different tinker to help you out till 80

Word, didn't realize they were that rare or didn't spawn at all.

Is it possible to lower my skill while crafting? Meaning even though my mule has GM Tinkering, is it possible to craft a trap at 80, 85 or 90 skill level instead of 100?

Been a few years since I played UO and wasn't sure if that was possible or not.

Thanks for the info btw, much appreciated brotha.

Not possible. Your tinkering skill level has to actually be at that skill. Technically I guess you could join factions and die to get skill loss for a couple minutes. But that will only bring you down to like 70 skill and no other levels.

Yeah think i gave mine away but your best bet would be to make another crafter. Pay a guildie or drop your crafting down and take the losses. Or go with magery for remove trap

You should be able to macro it up to 85 by removing trap on boxes in shops in town. Slower than skill scrolls, but the right price.

Edit to add the "feature" that almost instantly retraps these boxes makes it so you can park in front of one box and then afk until gains stop. I went from 78 to 85 sometime during an overnite.

I was macroing on the box in Brit Jewel Shop and my gains appeared to stop at 75.6 unfortunately. I haven't been able to find any other chests in town that will raise my skill.

However it could be I just didn't gain any skill for a long time and can still gain just really really slow.

I'm talking not a single .1 gain in 30 minutes where I was getting at least .2 - .4 every 30 minutes. Could be the rate of gain just dropped off for me significantly and I just need to stick with it. I'll definitely give it another go this afternoon and see if I gain anything after an hour or two.

If you remember the exact chest you used I'd appreciate that information :]

Pretty sure I have one of these, it's yours for free

Wouldn't I need more than one?

Once I Remove the Trap I would have to Re-Trap it using a Tinker with 80 skill level or create around 100 boxes trapped with a 80 Tinkerer correct?

Btw appreciate the offer and will definitely take you up on it if I'm not understanding the way Trapped Boxes work.

Again really appreciate everyone responding and giving me info.

Check out this other RT thread. One of the poster's said they got to 90 on the chest in the West Brit Jewel Shop. I used the boxes in the Yew Abbey to 85 and then moved to dungeons to make some cash while I train. RT is almost as painful, if not as painful, as LP.

Yeah that thread is the reason I started using the Jewel Box by Brit Bank :]

I must have just hit a really big snag in my gains around 75.6 for some reason.

This afternoon I'm going to go at it again and see what happens after a few hours of macroing the Jewel Box. I'll update the thread in case anyone else looking to raise Remove Trap happens upon this thread to let them know my experience.

Lockpicking was easy for me believe it or not:

I trained to 50 skill from Guildmaster in Buc's Den.
Then I used 10 locked boxes I created around ~ 55 Tinker & Carpentry skill to train on until my LP reach around 80.2.
Then created 10 locked boxes at GM Tinker / 65 Carpentry and trained my skill to 95.0 which I read is the max point you can gain on player made boxes. I'm looking forward to getting 95 up to GM status once I finally get my Remove Trap up to the point I can disarm lvl 4/5 chests. I don't want to train my skill without actually looting the chests and don't want to risk telekinesis.

Took me less than 2 days which was really nice. However I did have all the resources I needed in order to gain the skills. I spent all last week gather over 20k Ingots and 20k Wooden Boards in preparation so that helped greatly.

I still have over 2.2k in Lockpicks from raising my Tinker skill on my mule  I don't think I'm ever going to use them all.

Update: Jewelry Golden Box definitely takes you past 75.6 Remove Trap, the gains are just super slow over time.

I've been non-stop macroing on the box since yesterday afternoon, through the night, all during work today and when I came home from work just now and checked I'm at 85.5 so I'm assuming the 90 Remove Trap is accurate.

Thanks again everyone for the info and help!

Hope this helps someone looking to raise their Remove Trap skill, just macro the Jewelry Golden Box right next to Brit Bank, confirmed it will take you to 85.5 and most probably 90 still. The gains are just super slow and will take you a 2 - 3 days of non-stop constant macroing.
