Remove + Recover Traps!

I wish for
- the introduction of powerscrolls (+5, +10, +15, +20) for the remove traps skill and
- the ability to recover the trap from a trapped chest. After finding the trap using detect hidden, a pulldown menu should appear after clicking the chest saying "recover trap".

Recovering a trap should yield a deed comparable to the ones created by tinkers, but containing the exact trap (including damage) of the respective chest. The difficulty for recovery should be increased by +20 so that recovering a trap with 120% skill would be as hard as removing it with 100% skill. One should not be able to gain upon removing a trap that has been set up from those deeds, or maybe even unable to gain upon recovery. I'm unsure about that.

In case that tinkers see to much impact on their market for trap deeds, the deed for a recovered trap could be bound to the one who recovered it (so to say, he/she has the only knowledge on how to set it up again).

Additionally I would wish for the ability to open a chest that has been trapped by oneself, but without triggering the trap. This could also be bound to a skillcheck of detect-hidden (or so), still givin a chance to trigger it when having <100% skill.

What do other Trap Removal Specialists think of this? Thanks for your opinion.

OK, I just read up on how trapped chests crafted by players work here. It seems there are no deeds for traps to attach, but the trap can be attached upon creating a lockable chest and must only be activated (according to the wiki). Also I found wishes in this forum to make those containers trapped again once they were triggered.

Maybe this would be a good opportunity to not only implement trap deeds, but also implement the recover-trap option (as the deed system would already be there by then). I guess, adding deed-based container traps would be to much work for a skill getting that few attention as remove traps.

However, I would really enjoy getting powerscrolls for Remove Traps. I dont know whether they exist in official UO, but I assume that introducing powerscrolls for a new skill is quite easy as all scripts are already there. I'd really like to continue gaining remove traps above 100%, the hard gain is a great long time motivation for me :D

Even with GM there are traps that are really hard to disarm, in Khaldun for example. Sometimes it takes me 10 retries to disarm, my personal record (with GM) could even be as high as 20 times. Also treasure chests of higher level should have hard traps.
And after all, I'd just like to start gaining again ;-)
