Recruiting New Players?

Personally I'm very new to this game compared to some of the other people I've seen browsing around here with 10+, 15+ years of experience. I think this game has shitty graphics and awkward party systems but everything else about this game is a true sandbox, better then any other sandbox game I have ever played. With all the bullshit aside; PvP forums, EQMS/Power/$$$/Vanq (any guild I missed sorry) pissing contests, the people who are shady as shit fake bidding in auctions, The Trinsic Guild and their silly ass way of playing "God", the thief's, long ass save time's, and the occasional miss-click-got-myself-guard-whacked-accidents. I fucking love this server, I've donated plenty and just want to keep it growing.

In a game that's 20 years old, slowly fading, I always see people come back from a 3-8 month hiatus, but never meet any real newbies.

Is there any effort by staff/owners/players to bring 'new' and by new I mean TRULY new players to the game? to this server?

If there is I would love to help out in any way.
If there isn't, I'm offering myself and any free time I may have aside from feeding 2 monstrous children and making the wife happy to help in anyway get new players here.

PS
Thanks for letting me waste your time.

Shane puts a lot of money into marketing the server for new players and existing players.

Tell your friends about the game, like/share the posts on facebook, retweet stuff on twitter... that is a great way to help the server with very little effort. We fully understand we are competing with games that have insanely good graphics so it is very hard to tell brand new people that the game is amazing so our target market is really people who know of the game. It is very hard to convince brand new players to play a game with 20 year old graphics but like yourself, it does happen every now and then.

Sadly my twitch account got hacked and banned, Luckily I got it unhacked and am starting to stream again. I was streaming myself playing on my thief and I got 3 random people from other servers to start playing here. All the items I stole I gave to them as incentives to stick around. Now that my twitch is unbanned I plan on doing more of that kind of stuff.

That is the current hurdle I have with my buddy. He'd rather play D3 (or what ever that last big release was) on his XBone, because the graphics are better. Yet every time I am over he want's to bust out the Talisman board game and spend hours basically playing UO in turn based form.

Very cool! One thing we can do to promote your twitch is add you to the list so when you stream you will show up on our website here:

UOF is so awesome, the only problem for this shard is from those players who abuse the rule using vpn to create multiple accounts to control the land, just check the land after idoc it's insane so many small plots, I also saw Young player looting idoc, no drop upon death, all these would make new players quit, ban them and new players will donate if they see there's future for them on this shard.

If we were able to make a UOF client (say by integrating Sallos with steam/razor), tweak a few of the shittiest .bmps, and fix huing, the game would look like a modern game with intentionally simple graphics.
