Tard the Paladin
Grandmaster
The main issue isn't that RDA's are dominated by big guilds. The real problem is the fact that RDA's are the most effective way to get relics when considering effort/reward. RDA's getting dominated by large guilds cuts out newer players. That wouldn't be such a problem if those newer players didn't need the relics to fully develop a character.
The broader picture is about what is better for new players. Having them put effort into a relic lottery or having a system where they see results based on their time and effort?
I've picked up around a dozen relics, several hundred power scrolls, and around 50 taming SS's over two and a half years. I did a ton of PvM with guildies. However, I've yet to see a QS or a 120 taming. The scarcity of those things has got to be discouraging to new players.
Some of the new players posted above about how they look at all this. In order to achieve an end game character in a twenty year old wizard game they must expect to power game incessantly for several months to have a decent shot at gathering the required resources. My two cents is to let newer players see results on their grinding rather than playing the never-ending lottery. Let veterans grind for aesthetic shineys or cool gear rather than hogging up the resources that newer players need to advance.
