Edited: Just learned UOsteam provides you with the info of when a house will drop.

Thank goodness for the random timers.

Just learned Steam has a 2 minute warning clicky. Kind of defeats the purpose of a random timer.

Can't believe some of these programs that are legal here.

The sign on the house says Demo 1 to 120 seconds before it drops. No super secret magic.

Sorry I'm used to UO, not this. Mah bad.

Of course if people put nearly as much time into being helpful and providing compendiums on this shard as they do $hit talking, it actually wouldn't be super secret magic.

If people would do more research themselves instead of expecting it to be handed to them and crying like a baby.. They'd find out that it wasn't super secret anything.

If you have the item ID skill (or an item ID wand), you can also use Razor to get the house sign status but you have to be within 10 yards of the sign.

Once upon a time it was also possible to use UO Steam to automatically click house-signs: http://uoforum.com/threads/greatly-worn-finder.34139/ There were a lot of forum debates about IDOCing and those sorts of macros. For a brief period, the GMs were tracking the number of clicks and threatened to ban the worst offenders but I don't think much came of that.

I just had a quick look and the @injournal command has been disabled but you can still use a macro to automatically click the signs which is probably what you were referring to with your "2 minute warning clicky". The same can be used on loop to click signs while you run through the lands. Edit: Actually, @injournal against system messages still works, so the macro in that thread still works :(

Call me a simpleton, I prefer to click manually to find houses and watch their status. It adds an element of surprise to the whole IDOC affair and means I actually have to interact with the game! [e gasp

Very helpful, thanks bud. Like I said, mostly my fault for not knowing the shard customization. And if you don't know about the sign turning to demo, I'm not sure how you're supposed to search for it. If you search IDOC you get a stupid amount of results. I was still playing the "it call fall any time now game" in my head. Surprised I've had any success with these at all

The signal-to-noise ratio is a little noise heavy in here but it's slowly getting better with the Wiki. For some reason, there is some information that people are reluctant to share however. You have to trawl through all the posts in search results that tell you to search the forum :D

Happy IDOC and forum hunting :p

You guys must be thinking of EasyUO, which is banned on most shards. UOSteam and Razor are allowed on most shards, except for those that restrict to only Razor.

You can use any of the following clients on UOF:

  • Razor
  • UOSteam
  • Sallos
Thanks! Good to know.
