Power Scrolls and their Effects

I am not familiar with the "newer content" I played on a UOSA emulated server most of my time, and played OSI prior to champs and artifacts and PS's. So I was curious if there was a list or if anyone would be kind of enough to help shed the light on some of the benefits of a skill at 120 VS 100. Sure, some of the benefits are obvious for some skills. But others really are grey to me. Thanks!

Again this is all in context to buying scrolls, and character build ideas... I don't know, what I don't know.

Well, basically the 120 Skill gives you a higher chance to sucessfully use the skill.

For example, a higher chance to peace / provoke monsters.

Or for taming: you have a higher chance to tame a creature and there are also creatures that need 115+ taming to get them tame.

For crafting skills you have also a higher chance to make the item and a higher chance to make it exceptional.

Hope that helps

I appreciate the input Hanebu, I guess what I am looking for is a more comprehensive guide. Like for example, "Or for taming: you have a higher chance to tame a creature and there are also creatures that need 115+ taming to get them tame."

What creatures are these?

What is the % to craft exceptional at 120 VS 100 BS?

What is the difference between provo 100/120 VS AW or Other formidable monsters?

These questions could determine if I'm going to spend the millions of golden colored pixels on a PS or not. I am sure others feel the same. If I am happy provoking dragons, and don't care about provoking WW or AW or what evers, than maybe I do not need the Provo PS.

But if I need 120 to provo AW, and that is my goal, than alas, I know I need a billion gold to make the bard I want. Also, much needed information.

You are unlikely to find the specific information that you are looking for in regards to the exact kind of information that you are looking for in terms of numbers.

In regards to taming, I am not very familiar with the skill, but traditional monsters: Dragons, Drakes, Mares, White Wyrms, Ostards, Imps, Giant Beetles (newerish, but still older), etc. You will be able to tame and control without the use of a power scroll. Most of the custom mounts: polar bears, cu sidhes (ridable wolves), etc. Also fall in this category, I believe.*

*Like I said I am not a tamer and thus can't say for sure this is correct.

Your best bet is to ask tamers in game, when you see them using creatures not listed here if they are able to tame or control without the use of a power scroll. Ultimately, by the time you reach 100 Taming you will have enough knowledge and experience on the subject tot to decide what is best for you and when/if you want to use a power scroll.

This is especially true for provocation. Your best experience as to whether you need the provocation power scroll will come from experience. If you are looking to provo onto an Ancient Wyrm is also dependent on how much you want to risk. Even at 120 provocation you are likely to fail at least some of the time with high level monsters. That failure is also likely to result in your death.

Crafting is much the same way. When you bring up crafting gumps, respectively, you are able to see what your chance of succeeding at your level. If, for example, you are adamant about not wasting ingots on non-exceptional armor or weapons then you will want to invest in the blacksmithing powerscrolls. The same goes for the other crafting skills. To what level of success you want should determine your choice in that aspect. Planning a template is an exciting part of the game, but there are limitations to planning your templates and learning those limitations is part of the playing and experiencing this game.

Finally, because it will take a long-ish time for you to accumulate the funds needed to acquire such objects you should decide how important they are to the WAY YOU PLAY rather than HOW it lets you play the game.
