Poker glitch - server reboot cost me 400k

Two nights ago right before the gm's rebooted the server, I logged into uo and hopped on poker with 400k. (my bank balance before hopping on was 505k for reference)

As soon as I joined table, a guildie at wbb saw me hop on and sent me a guild msg that the server was about to reboot so no point in getting on poker. As he sent me that msg, the server saved.

After the save I left table without playing a hand and the normal server message came up saying "400,000 has been deposited in your bank" or whatever.

About 5-8 seconds after i left the table, the shard was rebooted.

i logged in 10 minutes later and my character was sitting in a stool at the poker table (this was not where i was when server went down, I was near the bank). I try to rejoin poker but my bank balance is now 105k... I tried typing deposit and hopping on and off the small poker table but nothing. The 400k is magically gone...

i'm only posting this to warn other people about yet another poker glitch and to be careful whenever server restarts are announced to just hop off table early and avoid losing your money. I sent Shane a pm on irc right when this happened (while he was still online after the reboot and talking in game) but i didn't even get a response.


tl:dr - don't go near poker tables if a reboot is happening soon or you'll inexplicably lose all your money

I don't play poker here anymore. As much as I love it, I've lost hands a few times where I had the same hand as someone else -

Example:

Me: Q7
Player 2: Q7

and the pot will go to them even though we tied and there was no kicker to be played. I've also lost hands where when a kicker should play a part in the hand doesn't count it.

Poker is fucked. Solution: don't play poker.

That's not to be a dick it's just that some things are unable to be fixed or are low on the totem pole. Avoid the broken shit, avoid the disappointment.

My UO experience has improved dramatically since I quit playing that botched fucking poker system.

There's tons of shit that doesn't work right, sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. Split pots, hands with kickers not being acknowledged, re-raising, positioning. It's the absolute worst poker system I have ever played.

I know it's getting a total rewrite but when?

The only problem with Black Jack is instead of everyone versus everyone, it's everyone versus the house. At that point it isn't really a 'gold sink' but a gold maker (if you can beat the house).

wouldnt it be a better gold sink than poker...if u lose..only the house collects instead of basically u transfering ur gold to someone else when u lose to them.
