Poison/PvP question

hey im looking to build a melee PvP character but have many questions

current template im cosidering is

100 Fencing
100 Tactics
100 Anat
100 Resist
100 Poison
80 Alchemy
20 Magery (I read this is enough to recall)
90 dex 25 int rest strength

1) what weapons can be poisoned? i read fencing is best when using poison but when i tried using poison i found it wouldn't let me poison my spear? are there any two handed weapons which can be poisoned and if so which is most common?

2) why do most templates i read recommend alchemy ? is it just to make potions or is there some PvP benefit to it?

3) is 20 magery enough/worthwhile? id only use it for recalling to save me running all over the map.

1)only 1 handed weapons(fenc and sword) can be poisoned
2)alchemy need for extra damage exp potion, exp pot best finisher
3)no need magery for recall, just put in runebook recall scrolls and u can recall with 0 magery

You are only able to poison onehanders. From Fencing-category those weapons would be the kryss, warfork and dagger. Alchemy is recommended (mandatory) because it makes your explosion potions deal more damage, which is nice and you pretty much should be lobbing those at your enemy when they're out of melee-range or running away.
I'm pretty sure you can recall around using the charges on your runebook with 0 Magery, but with 20 Magery you're able to cast Magic Reflection from scrolls, which is, once again, nice. And makes you a bit more survivable.

ah ty

in that case if only one handed weapons can poison and if alchemy only boosts explos pots and not poison

is it viable to dump alchemy and magery and take 100 parrying? so i could use say viking sword with heater shield for extra survivability and permanent poison?

or am i underestimating how important explos pots are?

Well, when you have 80 Alchemy your pots will hit for 16-20 (this is the same damage as GM Alchy, so 80 is enough), if you don't have it you'll hit for a lot less. I'd say it goes as low as 6-11, which is not really that nice.

I wouldn't drop 80 Alchemy n' 20 Magery for Parrying, you'd pretty much handicap yourself because:

A) Your explopots are weaker.
B) You can't drink potions when you're wielding a shield + onehander.
C) You can't cast Magic Reflect.
D) Most of the foes you encounter are (probably) mages.
E) Parrying is useless against mages.

I'd recommend against having GM Parrying over 80 Alchy and 20 Magery. All Parrying does gives you a bit of an edge against dexers. Compare that to more DPS and the ability straight-up negate 35-or-so spell damage.
