Hello! I am pretty new to this game, but i have played other sandboxes before with pvp content. So I will speak about PVP archers. I think they are a bit nerfed on this server.. Most we see stun mages and poiz warriors. That's a top tier right? But im pretty sure we can add some spice in that mix and view new fella as poison archer on a PVP scene. All we need to do is make arrows poisoned! How do you think bois n girls?

I'm all for it in the meantime, C.A.M.O. could always use a few more stealth archers, govt lots of good bows just waiting for some good bowmen to help me put them to use

I'm always for more spice in the mix. Just have to keep it balanced.

If things are balanced with archery right now, then giving them poison just unbalances it. So, what's the downside?

archery without good accuracy modifier goes whiff whiff whiff whiff whiff, usually when somebody or something is almost dead :\ and cant run and shoot, which even that would be great when fighting potion chuckers imo. But is what it is i spose.

I think that's what makes archery different from alchemy.

If archer's could run and shoot it would almost just be alchemy with a lot better DPS.

But explosion potions aren't a skill, they are an item. They do get a damage boost from alchemy but its an offensive weapon that doesn't need any skill points to utilize. Also you still cant potion chug and chuck with archery like other classes. And i am more referring to the moving shot skill, as how other weapon classes have a special ability, and Archery not so much.

Arm pot
When it starts, re equip bow.

@God.RG I was going to test out heavy xbow and explosion potions and see how that worked. If anything not complaining, just observations and perhaps old noise about lack of love for archery. I figure i am just still not used to exp potions being so op. And would love to see the dismount or moving shot for archery.

Or just dismount in general, and then perhaps the explosion potions would be much less of a factor i predict.....

This is all true of bows and arrows, but the second part to a (much) lesser degree.

Regardless, it might be a moot point. I haven't seen anyone use either in the field without the corresponding skill.

Throwing potions at a moving target is a skill, but does not require skill points. Throwing potions at a moving target with 0 alchemy is a waste of time.

Well I really dont think archery is balanced. Do you see them at PVP scene? I dont.. Every melee weapon has an option - the paralyze blow, the concussion blow and so on.. Mages are already unbalaned on a scene just becouse they stun people for 4 seconds!! How cool is that? Archery has nun of that.. Nuthing! I would be happy to see special attack or something on archery aswell.

That said, I think it's better to work from the assumption that management has balanced things well, unless you can put forward a really compelling argument that they haven't. I like the poison arrow thing. It would be more spice in the mix, as you said. I just think you need to answer the question about balance with something other than the claim that things aren't balanced.

Well maybe, but when i see a stun mage who is able to stun for 4 seconds then pop up his explosion pot and cast any spell from his book as combo!? Is this Ultima Online: Mage edition server? Becouse the biggest counter to mages i think is archer. He can shoot you from a distance and fizzle the spell, right? So it looks like server owners are DEEP mage fans. Maybe im wrong ofcourse, i dont know the mechanics of original UO server.. But ive heard somewhere that this server is original based. Don't get me wrong im not about that mages should be nerfed, im talking about archers should get some love here. Ofcourse it os my personal opinion..

P.S. Im not archer ingame.

But yes I totally agree Archery is not pvp viable , it wiff's way to often . Id rather then a wiff do like 1pt of damage for a nick at least we can disrupt as we do need to stop to fire a shot leaving us totally vulnerable ..
In any case Archery totally needs some love 100% . Those who claim its op in pvm with provo .. no no no vs a tamer with provo now thats OP !!

Literally the scenario im about to describe happens alot .. ill have 2 high end mobs provoed and ill be whiffing on them 4 out of 5 times constantly . not doing alot of damage . no joke about 3min pass's by and ive managed to get both mobs down to 75% health . and then whoop a tamer recalls in targets my provoed mobs, kills them both in less then 20sec and makes off with the loot (they also seem to be ninja looters some how always faster then me wtf?)

Same scenario happens with dexers , something ive noticed alot since MOTM started , ill be juggling my provo mobs trying to get them down while most of my time is spent on wiffing , a dexer will pop in and clean house.. and once again im out the loot because i cant take down my targets even a fraction of how fast any other non archer template can .. at least with dexers if they are high end mobs I can break the provo by hiding and can cause them some trouble .. but with tamers its just good bye loot .

Infected wounds allows me to have poisoned arrows.

Even if you could apply the least amount of poison that'd be cool, But really moving shot or dismount please. Because really the uo pvp did get a lot better and more diverse once they introduced all the weapon special moves, Just let archery have one is all though, please.
