Paragon chest item count

I did a quick search and didn't see a suggestion for this so here it goes!

Paragon chests do not show item count or weight like wooden chests. This, in my opinion, makes wooden chests more useable in my opinion. I like to know how many items are in a chest so I can know when I need to make more (kegs, armor, etc). So why not have a really cheap deed to make paragon chests show item count?

This could go on gold sink or plat. I'd say its worth maybe 3000 - 7500 gold, which is like 100-250 plat... could be a bit wrong on those estimates, but I wouldn't go more than 10k gold worth. It's a very simple luxury item... it can be used by crafters so they know when to restock their chests, PVP'ers so they know to make more kegs/armor (or buy more), and PVM'ers to know when they need to buy more instruments... and whatever else you could think of, there's some use for everyone I think.

Let me know what you guys think of this... I do not know if this would be an easy code, might be impossible or overly difficult, but it seems like a good idea to me. Those who know how to program this kind of stuff - let me know how difficult a deed like this would be to make.

Like the idea but I would say just add item and weight to Paragon chests across the board. No harm in having it that I can think if.

It's a quality unique to paragon chests, they're not meant to be anything other than they are and it adds to the mystique.

Not everything is supposed to be utilitarian. It's what makes the game special.

@TheFallen - I agree with @VFingerDiscount to an extent that I believe paragon chests should, to an extent, have the mystique. Therefore, I do not desire it to be across the board. Some people use paragon chests JUST to hide item count. But there aren't any other metal chests (except treasure chests) with the same color as paragon chests that have item count/weight. If there could be an option to get metal chests (not paying 50k to get a treasure chest from tmap) with item count, it would be the same to me.

Yes, I do agree with that, but do you see my point as well? For people [that haven't quit] who want metal colored chests with the same characteristics of wooden chests, a deed to give that to these metal chests would be good.

It's been so long since I did mibs - do normal mibs drop metal colored chests? [not white mibs]

You could possibly make it to where only the owner of the home that has secured the item can see an item count. You keep the mystery of both when it drops and when you're waiting for an IDOC. It could even be an option inside of the house menu such as:

Chests show item count:
Owner
Co-owner
Friend
None

I like this a lot - but I feel like this would be extremely hard to add into the game, code wise.
If its possible though, man I'd love it.

I'm learning programming as a computer science major. One day, after I know a lot, I'll jump into programming UO-stuff.
Then, I'll volunteer myself as a slave to add all the fancy things Adam never has time for <3

It's possible. I personally wanted this for a long time but I haven't because I wonder if it is the right thing to do. It devalues the fishing chests and player crafted chests.

this is why im against it, use Fishing chests, and you get what you want.
