Nothing but Empty Chests....

I'm trying to raise Lock Picking past 95 and I have been running around the dungeons all day and nothing but empty chests. I even hung out for awhile in one waiting for them to spawn again and it never happened. Any Ideas are welcome. How long before the respawn also...getting fried... :(

there is no point in trying to do it the hard way, just buy 5 SSs

or get a lot of level 4-6 maps and go do those. but it will take you forever.

I bought a couple SS to 97.5 but need to make some more gold to buy more. So I was hoping to raise the old fashioned way...guess not. Thx for the advice :)

I did this in Khaldun way back. It's definitely not difficult to GM with dungeon chests, just gotta know where they are! I can think of 7 off the top of my head in Khaldun. Don't be confused with the puzzle chests though, those have a bug where sometimes the lock respawns faster than the loot resulting in empty chests. Any chest that is lockpickable will have loot inside. Despise and Wrong are also good, tons of chests there to gain off of. Khaldun is awesome though due to the better loot!

Dungeons are mainly made up of static empty chests. There are only a select few chests that actually spawn with items inside of them.

Are you sure you're checking actual chests that spawn with items inside of them and not just the billions of empty, worthless chests that for some reason they decide to put into the dungeons?

Dang...didn't know that there were static empty chests in dungeons. I knew there were empty crates but I thought the chests were a sure thing. Bet that was the problem! Thx

Ohh god no brotha :lol:

The vast majority of chests you are going to come across are going to be static empty chests unfortunately.

I spent hours searching every dungeon and trying to locate every possible spawning chest when I was raising my Lockpicking and Remove Trap skills and I was only able to come up with around 20 Chests in all the dungeons outside of Khaldun.

Here's a perfect example of an actual spawned chest. When you single click on the chest it'll say Wooden Chest or Metal Chest like this without any description as to item count or weight description.

Once you unlock it then when you single click the chest you'll see the item count and weight description.

However be careful! All chests are trapped so you also have to remove the trap before opening them.

Also all spawn chests spawn in a static location and don't move far from that location. It will always spawn within a few tiles in the same location.

So once you locate a spawned chest, just mark a rune and it'll always be there, just have to be the first person to get to the chest is all or wait for it to respawn.

If you'd like I'll be happy to meet up with you in game, friend you to my house and let you recall off my two books that I have with the location of Chests.

You can simply mark runes to them all and then you'll have a nice collection that you can recall to non-stop?

so all the chests that spawn and you lockpick are different from OSI locations?

meaning the locations are all new to UOF?

I'm not sure if they're all different I just checked the Despise locations real quick and I know there are a bunch more than are listed in that wiki.

I'm going to make a list of all my chest locations tomorrow and post them in this thread to help out if I have time.

I'll probably make a post under Guides as well.

Also there are 2 Chests in Shame lvl 5 that aren't on the Wiki since Shame lvl 5 is unique to UOF.

Yeah just checking Despise for instance.

From the information in that link.

Leven 1 is missing two chests that spawn on UOF.

Level 2 is missing 3 chests that spawn on UOF.

I'm gonna be crashing soon but I'm gonna make a detailed list with pictures of all the chests I've found tomorrow and post for everyone.

Some of the Chests on the list do not spawn in UOF Dungeons, didn't want him running around chasing ghost chests since he's already having trouble locating actual spawning chests.
