Nightmare vs Nightbear

Is one better than the other? also, I know max stats on these are 525 str/hp, 105 dex, 125 int.
Which stat should I look for when trying to attain one?

and I learned that I can run a Dragon(3 slots) with a WW(2 slots). is that a better combo? I use to run Drag/Mare combo on osi server, which was the last time I ever played a tamer, and that was 10 years ago lol

From what I've been told by other tamers I've asked the same question..
Drag/WW is better. The benefit of running Drag/Mare is that you have a mount.
Personally I've yet to try myself. Only GM'd taming recently and still waiting for them to bond.

hmm I'll just have to try both. yea I love the ability to be mounted. but WW has beast stats with only 2 slots taken.

any idea about mare and bear differences?

Bear is just a reskinned mare, same requirements.

Other night pets are diff. Nightridge, frenzy, wolf, and swampy all require 115 or 116 to tame and bond naturally. Transferrable at 110 I believe.

i run ww/drag. i dont like using a mare because you still have to slow down for the wyrm to catch up...then unmount all kill. as soon as i pop up somewhere i hit all guard me and they go after whoever targeted me, so i usually never have to run off screen (plus i use provo).

i cant comment on using a death beetle combo as im only 110 lore 100 taming

The advantage of the mare over the WW, aside from being mounted (which you aren't most time) is the fire breath. You get a mana free 26 dmg range nuke. It's good when the pet is OOM (an OOM white wyrm is totally useless) and it's excellent when you get ganked.

Mares are also faster which is helpful, again, when you get ganked.

im gonna have to try that. problem i see now tho is my wyrm already takes a beating and i have to heal it a lot if it gets targeted, will be even worse with a mare since they are almost 200 hits less than a ww

lol why would i wanna flag and other people attack me? although, if im guilded, it should just go gray to me right?[/QUOTE

From my experience people really rarely attack a pet that has turned grey. I can recall maybe one or two people doing and I've been playing my tamer for over a year. It might just turn grey to you... I'm not really sure.

All I know is that it appears grey for a short period of time.
