New Skill: Whistling!

Wrestlers can melee without needing to carry a weapon, so why should bards be useless without an instrument? It's time to get back to our roots and use our own bodies, which is where Whistling comes in!

Naturally, Whistling would be less effective when used for traditional bard skills than an instrument proper, in much the same vein as Wrestling being impractical for real combat, but that's where the SPECIAL SKILLS come in!!!

- The fabled Grandmaster Whistler can temporarily stun opponents by putting his fingers to his lips and letting out a sharp, shrill whistle. We will of course need a table in the code to differentiate which monsters have ears or equivalent sensory organs for determining vulnerability to this.

I can only assume the future also holds Earplugs as a PVP earring equip to mitigate this ability's effects, but this renders all in-game speech low opacity, so be prepared to squint!

What else can these masters of mouthwind do to make the skill worthwhile?? (As if you need more convincing)

- Bird herding! This is different from ordinary herding, in that the noble bird herder can let loose a warning call to his flock, signaling the need to defend their territory and attack. I don't need to tell you why this could prove deadly for the target.

- Signal party members! Let out a loud whistle, prompting a Tracking arrow to appear on party members' screens, directing them to your location within modest range.

- Fetch! Tame dogs targeted with the Whistling skill will rummage fresh kills, bringing a random piece of loot back to you and depositing it at your feet.

Lest this skill be in danger of becoming overpowered, there are of course downsides, such as:

- Many Slavic cultures traditionally believe that whistling indoors is bad luck and induces poverty, so you can bet there's a stern half hour -25% gold drop penalty for committing this faux pas.

- There is a 5% chance of inducing an (Annoyed) status on monsters, giving a temporary berserker-like boost to their attacks.

- Reduced effectiveness dependent on the oft-neglected Thirst attribute!

Now I know some of you may look down your noses at this skill and perhaps even think it sounds like a bad idea (somehow???), but I can assure you that you'll want a GM Whistler in your party when you try to take on the Dread Parrot spawn surrounding the Bird King (Suggestion pending! DO NOT STEAL THIS IDEA OR I WILL REPORT YOU!!!)

Anyway, let's hear your opinions on Whistling! I'm hopeful @Adam can have it implemented within a few hours of the no doubt uproariously favorable response.

...
You know how sometimes you think of a joke and then you spend too much time on the joke? Yeah, that was this.

[e whistle.

I have just, successfully, ruined your idea.

Hardly! If anything, this just proves we have the sound files necessary to take this to the NEXT LEVEL. Plus in its current state it didn't even reveal me while hidden. Although if intentional, that aspect could be used for STEALTH barding! CONGRATS, YOU MADE THE IDEA BETTER.

YOU THERE, QUIT LEGITIMIZING MY JOKE AT ONCE
Here here, sounds like we have enough support to implement! Although I FROWN at the idea of not making Whistling its own 100-skill-point-consuming skill. I encourage you to reconsider how badly you surely want to be known as a Grandmaster Whistler!
