Generally the DDOSing is done out of an asian country, usually China. But they may be in NA never know.

We are currently in talk with a couple new hosts in different locations.
We are most likely going to be moving in the next week or so.

If it moved to the west it would not be unplayable one bit for eastern people. The concern would be euro players.

And Revert!!!!!! way worse than on here......shit I was paying for 5 accounts...and if you remember Trammel house placement reverted and I lost a castle....which was worth $2000 real money..Pixels on here aren't worth anything.....Last time I check this game is FREE.....so why all the bitching!!! This server has been really reliable...I got laggy for a week or two...which has oddly been cleared up after last attack.....also remember the events on OSI being so lagged you couldn't even move....the first invasion of Trinsic was freeze....move..freeze...move....terrible...

Yeah if the server moved to the west coast the playerbase would go down drastically.. pretty much unplayable for the typical EU player and not everyone wants to bother understanding VPNs, etc.
The east coast is the best in-between IMO.. playable ping for everyone. The current server is great but I may be biased given that I'm <1hr from the datacenter.

I would say you're very biased lol. The ping is playable for everyone except for people in South America, West Coast, Hawaii and Japan. They're already missing out on a ton of player base. I don't understand why we can't replicate Gamers in its prime, they had +1000 people online at all times and from all around the world and rarely had sever side issues.
I believe NYC is better but Russia is huge so...
Yes, why not use the same host as Gamers? I'm pretty sure that DDoS attacks won't end and we'll still have some downtime even if they move the server. I don't recall any other successful UO freeshard switching its host once every 2 months.
Unless if the new host will be something awesome, please don't give up and let this ddoser win. A little bit downtime once in a while during the summer shouldn't be such big deal. The current host is easily the best one so far.

might not even be the UO server that's ddosed but the hosting network as a whole.. + u never saw another UO shard switching hosts as often bcuz ddos attacks sucked dick back then. DDOS attacks r becoming stronger nd stronger, it's actually quite an interesting topic.
